For me Dave Walker was one of the bravest and most exciting domestic boxers we had at the time ... yeah he had his faults but don't we all.
As for the criticisms thrown at Hennessy and McCracken ... what a load of b*llocks!! some of you lot really do need to get a life.
An opportunity came up for David Walker to fight for the European Title ... a lot of discussions took place whehter Walker should take the fight ... the fight itself sold thousands of tickets ... and yeah okay it transpired Walker was out of his depth but McCracken threw in the towel well well before Walker took an unnecssary beating ... so whats the problem.
Incidentally David Walker is yet another boxer who can hold his head high as one of the nicest blokes anybody could meet in British Boxing ...

You are right about McDonnell, Fenech is catching up though and I do have to say the post fight interview following McBride left a bitter taste in my mouth..... He pretty much admitted he was only doing a hype job and said he knew Tyson wasn't focused and wasn't in shape..... Not what he was saying 24 hours previous.

I think this is a sweeping statement to say the least. Perhaps on occasions he may have been guilty to the above (along with a lot of people), you make him out to sound a waster, I can assure you he's a great curteous guy who the majority of the time did his best, but perhaps a little bit brave/bravado and maybe tried to keep everyone happy, when he should have looked after no 1 a little
