Bush would often say something like:
The United States was attackd on 9/11.
Irag is dangerous.
We mist attack Iraq!

Which sounds OK until you think about it for a few seconds. Iraq was not who attacked us!

Of course, he was lying about the "Weapons of Mass Destruction", that he kept claiming Iraq had when he they didn't.

Trump was lying every time he said something that contradicted what he said earlier.

The US got into the War because it was a random thought in Trump's head.
Israel was not in immediate danger from Iran.
There is no end game in sight.
We have been told countless times that it will be over soon and Iran can't continue.
We can only hope that Trump just says that we won. MAGA will have trouble believing him.

Donald Trump has said he has saved the UK from nuclear attack by waging war against Iran as he again hit out at the UK for refusing to be drawn into the conflict.

The US president also repeated his claim in a TV interview that parts of London were lawless “no-go” areas as a result of immigration, where the police were “afraid” to patrol.

In making the accusation, Mr Trump took the opportunity to renew his criticism of London Mayor Lord Sadiq Khan of Tooting, with whom he has had a fractious relationship, branding him “a nasty guy”.

However, a source close to the Labour peer said the city was a “multi-cultural and thriving” global centre with crime rates down and that the American leader “just can’t comprehend our success”.

Mr Trump was speaking to GB News amid the ongoing military stand-off between Washington and Tehran in the Middle East over the Strait of Hormuz.

The vital sea route for oil and gas was open to shipping prior to the US and Israeli offensive against Iran, aimed at preventing the country developing a nuclear weapon.

The disruption in the Gulf channel has shocked economies around the world, including the UK’s, and caused a spike in petrol prices.

War with Iran has been part of US foreign policy for over 20 years. People gloat that no other President was stupid enough to go to war with Iran, in doing so somewhat acknowledging its been a can kicked down the road over a handful of administrations. The buck stopped with Trump, and in the throes of dementia and megalomania he did away with any pretext to justify his actions and just did it regardless. Some people seem to have more concern they didnt get the spoonful of sugar to make this war palatable, than in essence the war itself. The seven (muslim) countries in five years doctrine, was described by General Wesley Clark 20 years ago. Iran was the last on the list and the only real remaining state adversary to complete US/Israel military hegemony across the ME.

He has said many many times that the war is won. The problem is that the rubber has hit the road when it comes to gas prices. He has tried to say that gas is at $1.99, but unlike the war, or the border, or drug boats, or trans athletes, people actually experience the price of fuel in real life.

If space invaders attack me, you won't defend me and likewise I won't defend you...yeah!!!

Israel and the US have the strongest military alliance with Israel having the best intel in the middle east where near every country in the world want's to establish working relations with oil rich nations.

Iran is done for now and will have to spend at least decade reestablishing functioning country which is a shame given Iran is the Home of Modern Euro/American languages with an incredibly rich historical impact on world culture.

There are no winners in the current worldwide disorder, the devolution of mankind. I was born in one of the most vicious worldwide disorders and will probably die in the middle of more self created disasters. There was a 7 year gap of relative world peace when I got married and had kids. Then somehow the usual idiots took back control that has created this latest Shiiteshow. Congrats... :TU:

You just made the point that neither of us would protect each other if space invaders attack. That isn't the same as you protecting me and me not willing to protect you which is exactly what this is. You earned your cone hat.

I stand by my point that Israel would not protect the US if attacked. Prove this point wrong or continue to wear your tin foil hat.

It was kicking the can down the road. There simply was no reason to do start a war with Iran. We could have just as randomly attacked some other country.

Don't be so sure, there are many other Muslim countries, one especially which was largely responsible for 9/11.

Israel is also keen to take out Turkey.

Shia Iran has nothing to do with "Islamic terrorism" - they just defend their fellow Shias in Lebanon, Yemen and Palestine. They have been opposed to the genocide in Gaza and the ethnic cleaning in the West Bank. They never deliberately target civilians, unlike the ISIS lunatics and the IDF.

Iran and Shias in Iraq have long fought against the real terrorists: Wahhabi extremists in ISIS and Al Qaeda.

Don't get your point at all. Yes, Clark he mentioned Iran among other countries. You could tell he thought it was crazy. Maybe GW Bush wanted to, but going to War with Iran has not been on most people's radar. There was no licking the can down the road as if it just had to be done sometime. What does the United States really have to gain from this? Nothing.
So far there has been the loss of human life and soaring gas prices to show for it.

My point is this war didnt happen spontaneously or in a vacuum. It was a continuation of the War on Terror policy for the Middle East. All those countries listed by Clark, over the course of the last 25 years, have either been subject to regime change or completely fractured into failed states by US-led intervention.

But when Biden and Obama was the President, going to war with Iran was not on the table. At all. Nobody was talking about. Nobody was saying that we needed to do it. If we didn't do it, the United States would not be worse off. In fact, we be better off. We would not have had service people injured and killed. We would not have wasted military firepower. Gas prices would be much lower.
We have got nothing out of this war. Nothing. There is nothing to get out of this war. Nothing.
There is no kicking the can down the road. It's not like it was something that needed to be done to make things better. There is no reason for this.

Donald Trump has gone to war with Iran for Israel. Why does he take the side of war criminals?

UN estimates Gaza has 61 million tons of rubble; Palestinians say more than 8,000 people buried in debris

Respectfully Alp, you're conflating public discourse with long term bipartisan foreign policy. Obama was neck deep in Afghanistan, and yet still managed to decimate Libya, bomb the bajeezuz out of Iraq and Syria and carry out drone strike campaigns in Yemen, Somalia and Pakistian. Thats seven countries. In the final year of his term Obama's administration dropped over 25,000 bombs, thats 70+ a day on average.

What did the average Joe benefit from any of that?

What's made this conflict exceptional is Iran was able to close the Straits of Hormuz in an act of passive resistance, which in turn has required the rest of the world to take notice their predicament.

There was plenty for the US to gain had the Iranian government simply collapsed as they had intended. Relatively uncontested control of the ME, control of a large portion of the world's oil/energy, control of one of the world's critical maritime choke points, control over critical trans-eurasian trade connectivity, removing a potential ally to Russia and/or China.....

Yes none of that matters to the average person, which is why they only care now its hitting their back pocket. Had Iran simply collapsed after the assassination of Khamenei and several tiers of his government, it likely have been business as usual for the average Joe, soon to be a distant memory just like Cuba and Venezuela.

Tend to agree. A large percentage of Americans don’t give a shit about foreign policy - or have short memories about it - as long as the economy is good. Trumpy was already tanking because of his corruption, Epstein nonsense, Greenland/Canada threats and the economy stagnating before the attack on Iran. Iran just made it worse.

The fact that Americans were sick of Iraq and the economy was cratering in Bush’s last year assured Obama would win in 2008. Didn’t matter what Biden did on foreign policy (getting US out of Afghanistan, supplying Israel in its war), people remembered the run up in inflation and Republicans were going to win in 2024. It’s always the pocketbook economy, and seldom - other than maybe the 2002 elections (post 9/11) - about whether foreign policy is going well or who the US is bombing
