There's usually a canvas outside the ring that would have saved him

1:51 of round 1, Allen lands a chopping right hand behind the head and it looks like Carty touched down with his knee (camera angle is bad), that's what hurt him. The second one was just the finisher. Should be a DQ.

Carty was also hurt earlier. His swan dive through the ropes looked very orchestratedMightyWarrior wrote: ↑Today, 16:01 We’ve now seen a literal Olympic standard dive right out of the ring, 10 out of 10, he really kept his shape there with some lovely flowing movement.

Shit show. NC seems right. I don't even know what the rule tecnicaly is if you go to throw a legal shot and someone turns there head, you see it happen, but I never quite know what the actual rule is.

So an hour of filler to go. They should let Paddy Donovan and Dave Allen come back out and fight each other as chief support.
Re: Round-by-Round: Katie Taylor vs. Flora Pili | DAZN - 5 September 2026
It should be an accidental foul, surely.gregregegg wrote: ↑Today, 16:05 Shit show. NC seems right. I don't even know what the rule tecnicaly is if you go to throw a legal shot and someone turns there head, you see it happen, but I never quite know what the actual rule is.

The others are debateable but if you think she lost the third Serrano fight you don’t know what you’re watching. Was a comfortable, wide victory for Taylorgregregegg wrote: ↑Today, 15:40 Katy Taylor shows the importance of a narrative and a fan base.
She is an arm puncher with zero power, and honestly i have her losing twice to a part time cop fighting out of her weight (persoon), loosing to cameron, loosing to serano 3 times (also fightig way out of her weight,)...
She has done incredible things for women's boxing, but I don't see her as an incredible women's boxer.

I think Allen should have a KO victory there. Carty was trying to clinch but they weren’t in a clinch. It hits the back of Carty’s head as he turns his head away from the shot as it’s thrown.
It’s been made out that they were in a clinch & he’s just aimed for the back of his head. That did not happen.

Watching that fight back, Carty was a bit annoyed by the first punch behind the head but didn’t seem to be rocked by it, came back well.
Not sure what on earth Carty was doing for the second one, but I think he just went with the flow maybe trying to make a point, while forgetting about gravity, hard floor, stuff like that.

His legs gave in and he touched down with his left glove but the ref didn't notice or care about it. That punch was the beginning of the end.

Tough one. Got rabbit punched then a freak fall.

It was only a few seconds in between admittedly, but Carty didn’t look like a man about to be KO’d.Heldenjaeger wrote: ↑Today, 16:23His legs gave in and he touched down with his left glove but the ref didn't notice or care about it. That punch was the beginning of the end.

Punch stat's suck but they can show when a victory isn't comfortable and wide. .
70-70 punches landed.
Not a single round where katy outlander serano by 3 or more punches.
Now with that in mind if katy taylor was tank Davis and threw vicous power those kinda stat's could still result in a 1 sided fight. But you can't land 7 weak punches a round and have a comfortable wide victory...
I really don't want to rematch it... but I might have to haha.

Shades of Whittaker. It was quite a graceful jump through the ropes . For a fat fella

My first instinct was that Carty had done a Whittaker and flung himself out of the ring but having watched the replay I think the head shot may have slightly disorientated him and being a big clumsy lummox he honestly just lost his sense of balance. Gotta feel for him on his big night in front of a huge crowd.
