Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury Wembley fight talks back on - Eddie Hearn
Negotiations to stage a fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury at Wembley Stadium in London have reopened, promoter Eddie Hearn has said.
Both fighters had signed a contract with Saudi boxing powerbroker Turki Alalshikh agreeing to fight each other.
However, negotiations had stalled in recent weeks due to a dispute about the location of the fight. Joshua's contract explicitly stated that the fight had to take place in the UK.
However, Saudi promotion company Sela and Netflix had indicated to Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn they preferred to take place in the United States to maximise the global broadcast audience.
It had appeared that Madison Square Garden in New York would host the fight in November. But, on Friday, Hearn said talks were again underway to have the event at Wembley.
"I want to thank everyone for the unbelievable support!" Hearn wrote in a post on social media.
"You have been heard and talks have now re-opened for Wembley.
"Let's make history with one of the biggest sporting moments [Britain] has ever seen."
Fury had indicated he was prepared to fight anywhere.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan said this week Hearn had approached him for help in bringing the fight to the English capital.
"Both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua recognise the importance of British boxing fans," Khan said. "The promoters know we're here to help. We've approached those in the know to say we're here to help.
"Eddie Hearn has approached us and we're keen to work with Eddie and the team. I understand the temptation of going to Madison Square Garden, of the money on offer, but the fans are here.
"We've been loyal to Tyson and Anthony. We love them both and we'd love to see them box here in London."
ESPN has contacted Queensberry promotions, who represent Fury, for comment.

Hearn loves talking crap.
Didn’t answer the question did he?
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua | NETFLIX - Winter 2026 *new thread*
Said it before , Don't think its gonna happen seems like AJ is looking for a way out , its never bothered AJ before fighting overseas , might pay a bit more in tax but he'll still make more than he would elswhere
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua | NETFLIX - Winter 2026 *new thread*
Maybe Joshua would rather be part of British boxing history and take this as an opportunity to give back to the fans who made him generationally wealthy rather than just earn X-percent more to stack atop the rest.
I may just be naive, but whatever the motivations, this fight should not be held outside of Britain. It would be nice if it could also be held at a time when the British pubs can benefit, rather than everything being to the benefit of the U.S.A
I don't expect much of Fury, he is a mercenary with a honeyed tongue

Just watched Fury's latest rant, one of many and he's getting absolutely rinsed in the comments.
He's looking and sounding desperate - As the landlord waits to collect his rent.

He's looking for a way out, so he signs a contract. Give your head a shake man.

Keith, genuine question. What is the point of either having a contract if they're not the same? Why is one more enforceable than the other? Surely the legal teams on all sides have made mistakes.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 05:51He's looking for a way out, so he signs a contract. Give your head a shake man.

I don't think either of them are avoiding the fight. Probably down to egos and AJ not wanting to back down from it being in the UK. I know Fury said he doesn't care where it is but guessing the USA is being pushed by Turki or Netflix. If AJ and Hearn are honestly arguing over a few million in extra taxes if it's in America then that's a joke IMO, they are worth an absolute fortune between them. I know no one wants less money but surely it's like us quibbling over £10. When you are worth that much a million for two isn't going to change your life.

They're both legally enforceable, that's the whole point of legally binding contracts. The offeror and the offeree can request changes after the signing, but neither are under any obligation to do so. IMO, Netflix are the problem.mickey1975 wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 06:38Keith, genuine question. What is the point of either having a contract if they're not the same? What kind of amateur outfit sends out different contracts for a single fight? Surely it should be 99% copy & paste.

Turki's idea was to cut through all the issues around the purse splits. His team negotiate directly with the fighters. Up until now, that's worked perfectly. But this time, he's going back on his word and it's working out too well for him.Controversial wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 08:10I know it's crazy, both sides have access to the best legal advice in the worldBoxerbeetle wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 08:01 What kind of amateur outfit sends out different contracts for a single fight? Ok he's not looking for a way out because he has a contract , so does Fury, so what happens when there told the money does'nt stack up doing it in the UK , You think AJ and matchroom are going to risk millions trying to sue TutTUT , don'nt think so .keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 05:51He's looking for a way out, so he signs a contract. Hearns is a yes man for AJ and if Aj tells him he wants to fight in my backyard in Australia , you can bet your life Hearn will find a way to justify it and do a hundred u tube interviews telling the world how AJ is doing it to help the british people and the poor people of Aust ,
Its simple just do it in the USA , its never bothered AJ before fighting away , especielly when he was building up his bank account , now all of a sudden he's worried about the British crowds and the London economy , wonder if he insists on no charge for British fans , Personaly i'm sick of it , i hope TutTut pulls the plug , don't think any of them deserve any more huge amounts of retirement money

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua | NETFLIX - Winter 2026 *new thread*
I believe they wanted the fight before the Prenga fight. They would have negotiated if that hadn't gone how it did. Hearn even said they were open to negotiations before that. After that I believe they've seen a possible way out without losing face, probably even come out of it looking like heroes. I don’t blame them, anyone who cares for AJ wouldn't want him boxing after that. I 100% mean that, it was shocking what happened. I do believe Dana being involved is a huge problem for them, though. I also believe Hearns ego is battered. He's probably never been in a situation where he isn't the money man. He is, however, holding one very strong card, AJ's contract, and will play it as well as he can.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua | NETFLIX - Winter 2026 *new thread*
Maybe I am having more of a conspirancy, but in my heart I think this is all a play so it makes for "good TV" for Fury's TV show. They will have to make it look like it really happened (hence why its gone so public).
You can just imagine it now - Fury on the phone to Spencer Brown / representives of Sella - "oh the fight now must be in New York" - then John Fury chips in "you cannot do it New York son, you are both British", Fury in a biopolar episode agrees to it in New York, convinces John, then we have AJ not agreeing - episode of the Fury's having raging arguments about Joshua / Hearn, cutting into these Instagram posts - before it will all be agreed.
My feeling is it will happen, and where it will happen is the venue it was ALWAYS going to happen - Just Hearn / AJ playing along with the drama for the reality TV show. I find it hard to believe that you can book up Wembley in 8 weeks notice.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua | NETFLIX - Winter 2026 *new thread*
I know its in his contract ,but its in Furys to do it in america. T really is,nt all that hard , its just common sence, its obvious someone , somewhere , somehow , has made a colosal stuff up , giving out and getting signed two different contracts , and for that no doubt heads will roll , Being Saudis , i hope not literaly ,
But i bet the same knumbskulls, are the ones who done the figures on what it will generate , and probably got it wrong , so for the amount of money this fight is costing due to there greed , it needs netflix , Netflix will count on selling x amount of subscriptions in the US , so really its all quite simple , Its costing a lot , so it needs to generate a lot , and to do that it needs to captivate the yanks , all common sence is'nt it .
.Now a couple weeks ago Hearn was saying if they have too they have too , he does'nt want to upset uncle TutTut , now all of a sudden Aj is adamant he wants to save the London economy , he wants the chippys to stay open and make lots of money , Give me a break it never bothered him before where he fights has long has he made Heaps ,
Look at it logicly and his last performance and you get the feeling Fury will smash him , whats more i think AJ feels that too and now has his way out ,
Now if Netflix and King Tut tut , dig there heels in and this fight does;nt go ahead , AJ is walking away from a colosal amount of money , because Hearn will not put it on , and why not simple paying them what they want he will lose big money , so the fact AJ is willing to walk away from that money just shows he does'nt need the money , and he can afford to pay that little bit extra in tax that Hearn is concerned about , Aj has got his excuse and probably a good one but there using it and Hearn is doing a Magaret Thatcher rallying the country waiving the union jack , AJ is doing it for the people , Aj wants to boost the London economy , yeh who the fooks gonna stay open tiol 4 am Indian reatruants who send there money back home anyway , Uber drivers , and b and b 's which will double there nightly rate , then all in all after the event you'll have 100000 cold poms crying the next day chips went up double Ubers were impossible to catch , and even though the Mayor promised to lay on extra buses and trains , the unions stepped in and demanded 3 times the normal rates , so they did'nt operate anyway , ,
so all in all whats Hearn gonna do if they walk , because he will not put it on , , sensible thing is let it go to the states , who cares set the alarm or tape it , in fact netflix it will have a repeat , its no big deal getting up i do it everytime theres a big fight on in the UK were 8.5 hrs in front .
Anyway i think it will get cancelled whats more hope it does , serves them right

I don't believe that either AJ or Fury are some how 'scared' of fighting each other. They've both signed contracts for the, if the fight falls through, that won't be the reason.

Not correct. AJ signed to fight Fury and Fury fought Wilder for the third time. AJ-Wilder was agreed, but Wilder lost to Parker and the 86'd the fight. Neither of those were AJ's fault.mickey1975 wrote: ↑07 Sep 2026, 06:00How?
