1. We never gave tax advice. We recommended top tax specialists for joe.
2. We paid for Joes flights and accommodation for his camps out of our own pocket and were never reimbursed. We flew him business class at all times, out of our own pocket.
3. Joe owes us hundreds of thousands of pounds which we have not claimed as we know he is in financial difficulty. We appreciate how we grew together and dont want to put him in any more difficulty.
4. We paid for a PA for Joe and a mind coach for joe out of our own pocket - the PA for many years costing us hundreds of thousands - we never reclaimed any of that money.
5. All of joes purses were paid to him directly. He paid us directly.
You should be careful with your language and understand the situation more before you use words like “grifting “.

"Out of our own pocket" You mean out of the money you made managing Joyce and your other fighters? They're talking like they were doing him charity work for years or emtied their kids' piggy banks to buy business class tickets for Joe.

Re: Joe Joyce needs to retire
S-JAM Boxing have today released various of tweets giving more insight into former client Joe Joyce, following Joyce’s recent claim he’s not in a position to retire financially.
S-JAM claim that Joyce was given tax advice, had business flights and accommodation paid for & a Personal Assistant which cost ‘HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS’.
Joyce is alleged to owe S-JAM ‘Hundreds of Thousands of Pounds’ which has not been claimed.

Was it Sam in charge of the company at the time or Adam Morallee
Re: Joe Joyce needs to retire
From that post it sounds like a tax issue. Obviously he's not the first fighter to end up in that situation unfortunately.
I wonder if this back and forth is a bit of a misunderstanding. I saw the interview and at one point he said something like 'if I'd been managed right I'd probably be in a better position now'.
But he didn't specifically say his management had done him wrong on the finances. He could just as easily have meant he shouldn't have been put in the Zhang fight when we was next in line for a title shot.
But people have definitely assumed he was saying his management screwed him on the money some how, and that has set Jones off in response.
Either way really hope everything works out for Joe, seems a great guy.

I imagine JJ just mismanaged his money, so many people do when they go from having nothing to having millions.

The back and forth isn't with Joe. It's with people pointing the finger on X.JC wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 06:08 From that post it sounds like a tax issue. Obviously he's not the first fighter to end up in that situation unfortunately.

Bloody hell. He won't be making that back from any future fights. Not worth it anyway, he is already speaking noticeably more slowly than in the past. Health = wealth.kbackup408 wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 06:45 Just based of companies house I'm not an accountant but JJ owes HMRC in tax £718k

Unfortunate situation from previous cases assuming he must have a Time to Pay (TTP) arrangement with HMRC the max he can stretch it to is 12 months in special cases 24 months.Fearful_Freddie wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 06:59Bloody hell. If that's true he's not in a great position. Any promotor worth their salt wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. I can't see him earning great money in boxing now, he has declined too much. I can see him being the next Danny Williams.

I don't know about tax law, I wonder if he can declare himself bankrupt? Not sure if that totally wipes the slate clean with HMRC thoughkbackup408 wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 07:07Agreed pal, wish it wasn't true but page 7 gives a breakdown:Controversial wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 07:05 If that's true he's not in a great position. I meant people interpreted what Joyce said in a certain way and are pointing the finger, which prompted Jones to argue with them about it on Twitter.
Re: Joe Joyce needs to retire
I’m no expert either but I think, while bankruptcy would ultimately clear the dept, you have to give up a lot/ most of your financial assets in order to declare it.Controversial wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 07:12I don't know about tax law, I wonder if he can declare himself bankrupt? So, in this case, it might leave him in a financial position where he needs to carry on fighting to earn a living anyway.
Obviously I have no knowledge of his actual situation.

Hmmmmm the story gets more complex.
I am thinking Joe may have been taken advantage of…
Was not financially educated… didn’t keep his eyes on the business side. I can see him being the kind of guy that’s too trusting… now doesn’t know how to deal with the whole disaster so is not writing anymore cheques.
Joe has given his health for the money he has earned. Without knowing more I lean towards Joyce was exploited

Re: Joe Joyce needs to retire
Based on what though? So many sportsmen end up broke. They will get targeted by investors for all sorts of things, properties, gold, crypto, some sort of business venture so being sold a dream is common place, people of all walks of life lose their life savings and pensions the same way. They aren't always scams, just not always the wise move if you can't afford to lose that investment. Or he was just silly and spent too much and didn't plan for tax, that seems to be the main issue. I have no idea what the other debt is for, that just sounds like JJ hasn't paid his bills.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 12:38
