Dropping back down the weights like this never works out, and will most likely shorten his career. Benn sounds ill too.

Hopefully the fight goes ahead.
I just keep thinking, what if one or both pop hot between now and the weekend..
Nevertheless...
Never before have we been able to choose between two tossers like these
I'm team Garcia

I'm firmly in the Garcia corner , Ok he;s a bit of a prick , BUT he's grew up in the game carrying on like he sometimes does is all part of it he knows that and plays too it. Benn on the other hand is a prize pratt , and hopefully he gets his cumuppense , he's having done to hime what he's made a carreer out of doing to others , Like i've said before i just hope after Garcia sparks him out that Garcia and his dad do a jig over him on the canvas , sort of karma is'nt it , I hope he then jumps weight and goes in with boots , who can finish the job

It will be interesting to see how he copes. All I would say is he seems to have a team of experts around him and doing the weight drop better than a lot of fighters who just starve themselves and sweat it out to make weight. He will probably add a stone or two come fight night.Twinkle Toes wrote: ↑06 Sep 2026, 17:28 Dropping back down the weights like this never works out, and will most likely shorten his career. It just seems a bit "rediculous" that one of the "poster boys" for Zuffa and a brit is fighting on DAZN PPV. You would think given the massive song and dance that was made of Zuffa going to Sky - that this would be a SKY PPV.
Re: Conor Benn vs. Ryan Garcia | DAZN - 12 September 2026
All the evidence to date suggests that Garcia's 'floor' is still higher than Benn's 'ceiling'.
I still haven't seen a compelling case for why this will be competitive.

Garcia has been a little erratic, but I'm sure this time he is well up for it. I base that on his physical appearance and his demeanor at the last face off. Benn has got under his skin I feel, hard to imagine him not

Jeez. Benn looking very drained and we’re still a long way to the weigh in.
Re: Conor Benn vs. Ryan Garcia | DAZN - 12 September 2026
I certainly hope this fight isn’t ultimately decided by a desperate struggle for Benn to make 10.5 stone on Friday.
Garcia is obviously the better boxer, but we know he’s not so good that a lesser skilled opponent can’t get the better of him with sheer will and effort.

I always had Garcia as a heavy favourite, looking at the pic, Benn looks very tight at the weight

That photo shows Garcia looking fit and healthy, whilst Benn looks like he's come straight out of Belsen
Re: Conor Benn vs. Ryan Garcia | DAZN - 12 September 2026
I cannot recall a recent weight cut as brutal as Benn's
He is going to get seriously hurt..

Re: Conor Benn vs. Ryan Garcia | DAZN - 12 September 2026
I’m in no way dismissing the fact that Benn has to go 2.5 lbs further than last time for this weigh in, while facing a better fighter than Prograis on Saturday. But it’s not like Conor is coming into this straight off the back of the Eubank fights.
Sure the weight cut looks rough but he just might be ok. Benn seems to be happy to put these photos out there, is it not possible that he feels a lot better than he looks?

He has all the right people to help. And has plenty of time.Kilburn wrote: ↑Yesterday, 17:27 I’m in no way dismissing the fact that Benn has to go 2.5 lbs further than last time for this weigh in, while facing a better fighter than Prograis on Saturday. It's not like he was tall or broad for the weight when he was at it before.

Is anyone picking Benn on here?
Is it fair to say that if he wins with no controversial decision or dodgy finish then he is a hell of a lot better than we think and we have to give him some credit?

On the flipside if he get's leathered he'll blame the weight. I think it's taken him so long to fight a live opponent that he's maybe past his best so we'll never know how good he could have been with or without the Eggs and sh1t matchmaking.jameswilson wrote: ↑Today, 03:40 Is anyone picking Benn on here?

Re: Conor Benn vs. Ryan Garcia | DAZN - 12 September 2026
If a focussed and fit Garcia shows up and Benn beats him, full credit to the guy it will be his best win.
I think Garcia is definitely the favorite but he has a lot going on in his life besides boxing. That part is why I won't be having a flutter on this fight.

According to Gareth A, Benn is going straight up to 160 or 168 after this fight.

Yeah he will go where the biggest payday’s are after that.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑Today, 05:03 According to Gareth A, Benn is going straight up to 160 or 168 after this fight.
And I think we all know Eubank 3 will pay the best as much as we don’t want to see it.
