Featherweights Hit The ‘Homestretch’ In Brum Classic, Live On DAZN
FEATHERWEIGHTS HIT THE ‘HOME STRETCH’ IN BRUM CLASSIC, LIVE ON DAZN
A CLASSIC FEATHERWEIGHT confrontation tops the bill when Queensberry return to Birmingham’s BP Pulse Live on Saturday 26 September, when Liam Davies takes up the challenge of Nathaniel Collins, live on DAZN.
It is England vs Scotland in the boxing ring, with Davies – the current European and WBO Intercontinental champion, trades blows with Glasgow’s ‘The Nightmare’ Collins, the former British, Commonwealth and WBC Silver champion.
Also on the card, middleweight Nathan ‘Hitman’ Heaney (19-2-1, 6 KOs) – along with his army of fans from the Potteries – will run it back with Gerome Warburton (17-2-2, 2 KOs) in what will be his farewell fight before retirement, after the Stoke favourite was outpointed by the Welshman back in March.
Olympian Luke McCormack (5-0, 3 KOs), fresh from his first 10-round super lightweight triumph over Kane Gardner in February, goes up against the deadly Kay Prospere (16-2-1, 7 KOs).
Also at featherweight, the Morecambe starlet Nelson Birchall (11-0, 8 KOs) faces Gully Powar (13-1-1, 1 KO), who fought to a draw in a British title clash with Rhys Edwards in April. Birchall, just 21, became English champion in March with a ninth-round stoppage of Ryan Griffiths.
Davies (18-1-0, 9 KOs) is establishing himself as a featherweight force after stepping up from super bantamweight, where he became IBO world champion, and won the European, British, WBC and WBO International titles.
Southpaw Collins (17-1-1, 8 KOs) will be determined to bounce back in a major fight following his first professional defeat in April against European champion Cristobal Lorente in Glasgow. That fight was a rematch of a drawn encounter in October 2025 and doubled as a final eliminator for the WBC world title.
Collins ultimately came off second best via a split decision but can put himself right back in the world title frame with a victory in Birmingham.
“There will be absolutely no quarter given in this first clutch of fights we are announcing for Birmingham on Saturday 26 September,” said promoter allegedly. It really can’t get much better at featherweight than Liam Davies being matched with Nathaniel Collins.
“Both have got strong world title ambitions and a fight of this quality will allow one of them to issue a massive statement of intent. Liam and Nathaniel are both all-action fighters and both possess the power to close the show at any moment.
“I believe we will witness a true England vs Scotland classic.
“The Stoke fans will be rocking in the aisles to welcome Nathan Heaney back into the ring one last time for his rematch with Gerome Warburton. He’s given so much to British boxing and he deserves the opportunity to settle the score with his fans behind him.”
“We’ve also got the emerging talents of Luke McCormack and Nelson Birchall on the show in career-toughest tests against opponents who will fancy their chances of upsetting the odds.”

Re: Gerome Warburton vs. Nathan Heaney II | DAZN - 26 September 2026
I figure even if this was basically the same fight as their 1st one they'd give the decision to Heaney this time. Honestly I thought he could've got it the 1st time and was surprised he didn't.
Their 1st fight was also like the 3rd or 4th fight down from the Main Event the 1st time around. Heaney vs Warburton as a Main Event is weak as sh*t.

Two TV shows and weak cards on both for Saturday, with the lack of football you'd think they'd put on something more appetising

I don't know. Probably. If it's more important to British fight fans I'd assume so.

Re: Gerome Warburton vs. Nathan Heaney II | DAZN - 26 September 2026
Warburton happy to play supporting role in Heaney retirement party
Gerome Warburton has spent his career hunting for the type of win earning a spot in the home corner.
On March 28, the 31-year-old middleweight thought he'd done that when outpointing Nathan Heaney over 10 rounds.
That result persuaded Heaney the time had come to call time on his career but, before retiring, he set his heart on evening the score with Warburton.
The rematch takes place at Birmingham’s bp pulse LIVE Arena on Saturday, live on DAZN.
Despite winning the first fight, Warburton (17-2-2, 2 KOs) goes into Saturday's rematch as a bigger B-side.
The fight is billed as Heaney vs. Warburton. His ring entrance will be overshadowed by Heaney’s trademark Delilah rendition and his own pocket of supporters vastly outnumbered by the large traveling contingent from Stoke.
“No, it doesn't bother me,” the Welshman told The Ring.
“I'm used to always being the guy in the background as people think I’m just there to make up the numbers but I've always proven different people wrong.
“I love an away day. I’ve always boxed as an away fighter so I've got nothing to prove to anyone. There’s no stress on me, it's always on my opponent because they're putting bums on seats. They’re the ones that the promoters are backing money into and hoping they just beat me, but it doesn't seem like it's happening for them.”
There are benefits to going over old ground against Heaney.
In May 2025, Warburton got himself into position to challenge Kieron Conway for the British middleweight title. Things didn’t go well and he suffered a fourth-round stoppage.
Beating Heaney (19-2-1, 6 KOs) completely overshadowed that result and allowed him to re-invent himself. Rather than frustration at being cast in the same role or pricing himself out of the rematch, he leapt at the chance to perform in another high-profile spot.
“When you look at British fights, I think, for the build-up and the atmosphere, these are the fights you definitely want to be a part of,” he said.
“To do it again, get the public views and obviously be a massive part of his ring walk and things, you can't really say no.
“It wasn’t like the last time was a close fight — eight rounds to two — so I just believe that I can definitely box a little bit better than I did. I’m just going to be that extra 50 percent better this time.”
Heaney’s popularity is such that he could have boxed literally anyone in his farewell fight and thousands would have bought tickets to watch.
He hand-picked Warburton and is desperate to ensure he leaves the sport on a high. Unfortunately for Heaney, Warburton is equally desperate to get another win and finally move on.
“Don't get me wrong, he's going to try and bring the best to go out with a bang but it's the end of his career and it's what he wants out of his last fight,” he said.
“Hopefully he can try and go out with a bang but there's someone else there that's looking to try and make a big statement, so good luck to him.”

Trying to weigh up this card against Zuffa.
Might watch the last two bouts of this.
Watched Heaney-Warburton at the arena last time.
Was clear win. Let’s see what we get tonight.

Goldsmith so respectful after folding that fella urging respect as the opponent was badly koed and dealt with a big crisis himself. Good fighter.
