Still the biggest non heavyweight fight in boxing this year IMO. But should not be in Saudi. Speaking of easier fights. He is long past prime, but fighting against prime, powerful, dangerous, come forward, tough, high volume punching undefeated beast ....and still is called cherry picker Boxing fans would erupt if he was fighting easy fights

I think anyone who calls this fight an Alvarez cherry pick either knows little about boxing or is an Alvarez hater. Or both. I agree with you that Mbilli and his boxing attributes present a distinct challenge to Alvarez, who, while on the downward side of his career, is still a pretty good fighter.

Canelo Alvarez is still the most popular active Mexican fighter by miles 'the fight will be big in my opinion. And? If Alvarez wins, then I think he deserves big credit'.

Note: The fight vs. Chris Eubank Junior made sense before Eubank Junior 'unfortunately while dead at the weight of 160 pounds, suffered a loss to Conor Benn'.

Everyone in boxing knows, that in both fights Eubank Junior was severely weight drained 'and winning the first fight because of those factors was a courageous performance. However the rematch loss, has damaged Chris Eubank Junior's career and position in the game'.

I don’t think (it’s just a hunch) canelo is competitive with the three you mentioned anymore.

But if I’m wrong and he is still top class then ok. But my guess is he is no longer p4p top 20.

ALVAREZ WARNS MBILLI HE WILL FIND OUT ABOUT 'A DIFFERENT LEVEL'

Consider Canelo Alvarez unimpressed by Christian Mbilli’s credentials.

Mexico’s Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) and Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) will fight for the Cameroonian champion’s WBC super middleweight title October 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Their 12-round, 168-pound main event will headline a Ring card DAZN will stream to subscribers of its Ultimate plan and on pay-per-view.

Alvarez and Mbilli haven’t fought in over a year. Alvarez lost a unanimous decision to Terence Crawford that night at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in the fight after Mbilli’s 10-round war with Lester Martinez ended in a majority draw.

“There’s no way he can fight like that [against me] because I’m not Martinez,” Alvarez told Mbilli in DAZN’s “Face Off” preview show. “They took and threw punches like crazy, and they are strong, of course. But that’s not boxing.

“It’s just a different level. He’s going to find out. … I love that style [of him coming forward], and he’s strong. He knows he’s going to come forward and I love that style because he’s going to be a lot of action, and I think you can fight a better fight. So, and yes, I love it.”

Alvarez and Mbilli hit hard and proved to have marvelous chins throughout their respective careers. All signs should point to the fight reaching the final bell for a decision.

This fight is going to determine and heavily influence the future of Canelo Alvarez's boxing career 'I would rather see him move back up to 175 pounds, to fight either Dmitry Bivol II or Artur Beterbiev'.

Note: I have always maintained that Alvarez appeared to be weight drained vs. Terrence Crawford 'and this did affect his performance, as his endurance seemed to suffer more usual'.

Skill for skill, I don't think Crawford and Alvarez were miles apart 'this was not the same situation as Canelo Alvarez vs. Floyd Mayweather, in that fight Floyd Mayweather Junior was a level above Alvarez's in terms of skill and still even during that latter stage of his career the superior athlete. Nevertheless still a great win by Terrence Crawford'.

I would not be surprised if this is Canelo Alvarez last fight at 168 pounds 'before he maybe retires or moves back up to 175 pounds' etc.
