Now, what is the fuzz about saying that Kid Gavilan was in a different class?. He was in a different class! You guys can't see?
Shane Mosley was a good fighter. Extrictly world class! But, Kid Gavilan was about 2 levels above. I am not overrating nothing. It is what it is in my eyes!
The Cuban Hawk was a phenomenal fighter. He was so great, that American tv audiences wanted him on the main event bill no less than 30 times!
Mosley? I wouldn't pay to see none of his fights on ppv. The guy is not a top 100 all-time pound per pound fighter. Stop complaining.
Why is Gavilan 2 levels above? Based on what? He doesn't have more Championship wins. He didn't compete in more Championship fights. He doesn't have a better winning percentage.
Also cool it with the use of the word F*ggot.
tiny acres didn't say anything to insult you. He just asked you to provide an argument to back up your opinion. You still haven't done it.

Kid Gavilan was better skilled. The only thing he didn't had was a wallop punch.
Gavilan fought and beat better fighters than Sugar Shane Mosley.

Watching some Gavilan fights tonight having just watched all of Mosley's fights recently. I gotta say their styles aren't really all that radically different from one another.
Gavilan likes to shuffle his feet, and then spring forward with a flurry of shots.
Mosley will often do a similar spring forward with a flurry of shots. Sometimes accompanied with a bounce to one side or the other. Sometimes with little movement, just the spring forward.
But they have that in common, those bursts of quick flurries like that.
I will say Gavilan seems a good bit rangier than Mosley. I think he's only got 2 inches on Mosley, but it looks like more as he has lanky arms. I'll bet the reach advantage is more than the height with those 2.
Gavilan has the better jab from what I can tell
Mosley is the better body puncher
Gavilan has the better uppercut
Mosley has the better right hand and left hook
Both are iron chinned. Nobody's going down or out.
Gonna watch some more Gavilan fights, but that's my thoughts on the fight for now.

You forgot to say Kid Gavilan's bolo punch. It was detrimental to one's health
Robinson, Gavilan, Napoles, Rodriguez, Griffith, Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Pac, Mayweather. My top 10 welter champs only-in order. I base it on television and/or video analysis, not who was more dominant in his own era.

My top 5 all-time welterweight rankings:
1. Sugar Ray Robinson
2. Henry Armstrong
3. Kid Gavilan
4. Sugar Ray Leonard
5. Emile Griffith
Then, the rest of the top 10:
6. Floyd Mayweather Jr
7. Jose "Mantequilla" Napoles
8. Carmen Basilio
9. Thomas Hearns
10. Felix "Tito" Trinidad
I’d have jimmy Mcclarnin and Barney Ross in my top ten. I agree with the other picks also. I’d put these guys in there rather than Trinidad and Basilio
