However, assuming these numbers are accurate, a simple check shows that the decline in violent crime began several years earlier during the Biden administration. The 2025 figures appear to represent a continuation of an existing trend, rather than the beginning of it.

Crime in the US has been declining since the early 21st century. Presidents are blamed or credited for crime but one of the best indicators of the crime rate is the number of males aged around 15-25. That obviously has to do with birth rates. Another thing is crime control is mostly a local issue. There was massive rioting when trump was president and believe it or not, I don't blame trump for that. In those situations the local response was poor.

BIden did fork up with his insane border policy, but crime decreased some under his watch as well.
