Ballo was a really good amateur. He beat Jamal Harvey after Harvey had won the ‘21 IBA world championships. He won the ‘24 national golden gloves beating Keith Colon who is now 11-0 as a pro. Even though he beat Harvey, USA Boxing told him they were taking Harvey to the Olympics and he would be their guy in ‘28. Dumb move by USAB as Ballo probably would have done better and he turned pro. For some reason both him and Harvey are moving slow in the pros with only 4 fights each.
