Chris Byrd vs Ken Norton

Post by gilgamesh »

In this one I think Norton is able to use his strength to keep Byrd on the ropes for long stretches of the fight, in the center of the ring Byrd often outquicks him, but can't keep it there as much as he needs to. Norton outhustles him by the skin of his teeth to take a narrow decision.

Norton would outhustle and outbox the slick southpaw by cutting off the ring, jabbing and working on the body to take a decision.

Norton never fought a southpaw in his entire career
Was he steered away from southpaws?
Could make this an interesting bout

Most managers are gonna avoid a tricky Southpaw if they have the option to do so.
