Alexis Arguello vs. Tyrone Everett

Post by scorpio83 »

15 Rounds Super Featherweight Bout

The Explosive Thin Man adapted well against his southpaw opponents and beat the likes of Rafael "Bazooka" Limon, Rolando Navarrete, Cornelius Boza-Edwards, Jose Luis Ramirez, Jim Watt and Andrew Ganigan just to name several big names. Everett was a southpaw boxer just like Arguello's opponents whom I mentioned earlier and he could have fought Arguello had Everett not mess around with a trans that him got killed by his girlfriend.

At their best at Super Featherweight, Everett would have his moment to outbox Arguello by landing right jabs and circling around the ring in the early rounds, but in the middle rounds, Arguello would figure out and cutting Everett of the ring or ropes to break him down with jabs and body punches. He would dominate Everett in the later rounds to either take a decision or stopping him late after Arguello nailing him with a big left hook and right hand. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Bad style for Arguello, who gets out-pointed clearly.

I bet that you underestimate Arguello's adapting his skills against his southpaw opponents and I don't know if you ignored the first paragraph about how Arguello would adapt well against his southpaw opponents as Everett would be add as he would be another victim of Arguello's heavy punches on the body and head had they fought at their best at Super Featherweight. Anyways, that is your opinion and don't underestimate Arguello.

I read what you wrote but I disagree. I had Jose Luis Ramirez beating Arguello and Ramirez boxed that night. Everett was faster and more skillful than Ramirez. It's not the southpaw factor that informs my choice as much as it's the movement and speed.
