Wilfredo Gomez vs Azumah Nelson

Nelson's victory is even more impressive here when you watch it and see that Gomez was allowed throw low blows pretty much as he pleased...and he threw a sh*t ton of 'em

Salvador Sanchez vs Jose Chavez

Came to watch a 17 year old Sanchez in his 10th pro fight. Stayed to listen to the absolutely BIZARRE commentary from what seemed to be a couple of inebriated high school kids. Completely distracted me from the fight. I think Sanchez won in the 7th round or something. Either way, the commentary makes it a 10/10 viewing.

12. Sanchez 10-9
13. Castillo 10-9 (swing)
14. Sanchez 10-9
15. Sanchez 10-9 (swing)

Final tally: 143-142 Sanchez

Great fight. Great fighters. Several swing rounds in there (I try not to score even rounds), so it could've been a bit wider for Sanchez, but the right man won in a very close, tactical contest.

Castillo was quicker, slicker, and arguably more skilled from a technical standpoint. When they boxed he got the better of it. However, when Sanchez banged his gloves together and put the pressure on, he made it uncomfortable for Sanchez and routinely did the better work. Ruben fought back gamely, still taking rounds here and there, but once the tide had turned it more or less stayed that way in favor of Sanchez.
