The Odyssey is favourite for best picture Oscar at the moment, but they reckon this one might come on in the championship rounds

The guy they’ve cast as Stallone is bang on. Uncanny really.

My only concern is that as boxing fans, we all know the Rocky / Stallone story. There are so many documentaries out there. The whole story - Stallone was broke, saw Chuck Wepner - Ali. He wrote a script but insisted only he could play Rocky. Rejected any offer on the script if he couldn’t play the lead. He sold his dog cos he was so poor… then bought him back later after he was successful. Rocky was a huge success. Stallone became a star.

I wonder if they will even add the Wepner aspect as it’s controversial - Chuck won a case years later because his name was floated about as the inspiration and used in the publicity for the film. Then 45 years or so later Sly changes his tune and says Wepner was NOT the inspiration…..

And looking at the trailer, so many scenes are identical to the Rocky film, except with an actor replicating the scene. I’ll definitely watch it out of interest but it just looks like a Rocky remake with a twist….

This looks brilliant, cant wait for it. It's a new take on a well known story from a different angle and should get a new generation interested.

I also just bought Stallone's The Steps book.

I was confused for a moment, thought MightyWarrior was meaning that he was playing Stallone/Rocky in a movie

The lead looks and sounds pretty spot on. He was good as Pacino too. Hopefully the film is accurate and isn't just hollywoodising every single detail.

Thing i always found strange , was the amount of people who actually acted and thought it was all real , over the years from the first rocky film ,, i lost count its in the hundred , perhaps thousands of young men , who the first time they, ever sparred and copped one on the nose , i had to laugh and say to them its diferent than the rocky films is'nt it , and whats more was never suprised no matter what there persona was when they walked in the gym that they never came back for a second go .

Which tells you really no matter how good they are , one fight novice getting sparked in the first rnd , OR Wardley and DD getting knocked down , back up and nearly killing each other ,

You step through them ropes , By thaae time you get in , you have found out its not a Rocky film so therefore YOU DESERVE RESPECT
