Round-by-Round: Daniel Dubois vs. Fabio Wardley II | DAZN - 17 October 2026
Re: Round-by-Round: Daniel Dubois vs. Fabio Wardley II | DAZN - 17 October 2026
Wardley was predictably gun shy and appeared to be on the verge of quitting if his corner hadn’t thrown in the towel.
Fighters can’t turn their back or twist their head away from their opponent, without being defensively responsible, and not expect the ref or their corner to stop the fight.
Every fighter that faces Wardley from now on will attack him from the get-go.

He does but he’s already beaten him so I’d rather see him fight Kabayel firstjamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 18:17If Dubois wants to be the man, needs to take him on.

He doesn't have a fight scheduled to my knowledge. Usyk that is.overhand_right wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 18:24He's got a fight scheduled, is the lineal champ and may do what virtually all previous fighters have done and find it impossible to walk away.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 18:10Usyk is pretty much retired.overhand_right wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 18:07 The DAZN twattery never ceases, does it? That presenter fellow with zero charisma just said Dubois is viewed by many as the best heavyweight in the world.
How many times does Usyk need to knock him out?
What an absolute shower of cnuts DAZN on screen talent are. Shameless liars who will say anything to be on television.
Any combinaton of Hrgovic vs Dubois, Dubois vs Kabayel or Hrgovic vs Kabayel is fine by me. I suppose one of them could beat up Gassiev, but to me he's cannon fodder compared to any of these other 3.
I suspect the Fury vs Joshua winner will be looking for some other megafight of some sort, but not against any of the Young titleholders.
AJ could always have Wilder as an option pretty much no matter what happens with Fury, but I figure if he gets embarrassed by Fury he may want to call it a career, and who would blame him?

Dubois was good. But this Wardley was badly faded.
Re: Round-by-Round: Daniel Dubois vs. Fabio Wardley II | DAZN - 17 October 2026
Faded isn't the word I'd use, but when he got hurt almost immediately after the fight began he was both hurt and gunshy for the remainder of the fight.
It's not just the physical damage a beating like that does to you. It mentally scars you too. Your self doubt that didn't used to be there effects the way you fight.
He needs some confidence rebuilding fights against walkovers or just another line of work altogether, but first he needs to enjoy the Holidays with his family and just rest a while.

Is it finally time for every boxing fan with half a brain to stop being gaslit about Ben Davison?
If you're a British heavyweight with talent, stay away from Brain Damage Ben.
He's fornicating awful.

No surprise to see Wardley look finished after last fight, poleaxed 20 seconds in from a monster right, he got right up but took a couple more before the ref could count, Dubois couldn't miss they right hands, Wardley showed his chin again because technically he still stood up to some huge shots but his reactions were different, they were all registering, he got opened up and nearly stopped before the round was out, Dubois looked bullish no way was Wardley making it out the 2nd, Dubois rained down punches until the towel came in, I personally would've stopped it in the 1st
Re: Round-by-Round: Daniel Dubois vs. Fabio Wardley II | DAZN - 17 October 2026
There were glimmers from Wardley’s demeanour that he might work his way back into it, maybe even stun Dubois in return.
But Daniel was looking very patient between attacks, and those attacks were savage when they came.

It baffles me. Apparently we don’t like success stories if we don’t like him. That’s according to Tony Bellew. The boxing genius who had Wardley winning inside 6 tonight.
I think it’ll be one of them in ten years time when Davison’s off the scene people will look back & think ‘how the fornicate did he train so many top fighters?’

You can only really judge this performance on the first 20 Seconds after that wardly was fvcked.
My initial reaction is the previous beating ruined wardlys chin, but watching it back, honestly the chin did very well, he just got caught clean while swinging and never bounced back.
Terrible for his health, but really, hard to say he was decisively worse, other than he got hit early clean… (which may of just been chance or may of just been ddds confidence to walk fowards…).
DDD kab is the fight… but also winner of aj vs fury (although I doubt they will want it), hrg, Parker? Gassieve? Zhang even? Wilder? Moses? There are very few fights I don’t wanna see ddd in. fornicate I hope ddd just keeps taking solid fights

His chin was insane, he was shipping clean punches.
The problem is that he only has durability and a very wayward right hand.
At the end of the day, boxing will look at Wardleys success as a damning indictment of the level of the heavyweight division that he was operating in.

I don't get it?
Having coached amateurs for over 30 years, we never let a boxer in the ring who couldn't keep his hands up.
Wardley obviously missed those classes.
You can talk about durability, say he came back too soon, wasn't prepared, Dubois had his number, but your defence is better if your hands are high. That's basic physics.....

I know all of the bigwigs in British boxing think we're all a bunch of miserable twats, but how long have we all been saying Davison is shit on here? For me, it was Leigh Wood against Michael Conlon (where Wood got his brains scrambled round after round and then pulled out a late KO) where I said Davison fighters were fit and strong but took a ton of punishment before pulling out a miles from behind KO.a force wrote: ↑17 Oct 2026, 18:56It baffles me. Since then, he's been gifted all of the best British heavyweights and one after another he's gotten them all knocked out. I mean, it never got stopped and it ended up being an iconic moment in heavyweight boxing when Fury beat the count in Wilder 1, but multiple other refs would have stopped Fury flat on his back like that.
You could argue Davison has got every top level heavyweight he's ever worked with knocked out.
The c*nt needs to go. I don't give a fornicate for his feelings. He's made millions. He's a conman of epic proportions and needs hounding from the sport.

Wardley was there for the payday. No doubt. Took his licks but threw nothing at all and waited for the towel.
Shitshow. Doubt we'll see Fabio in a ring again

As a PPV card that was pish.
We being served slops for prime money. Not good enough
One of the worst PPV shows I can remember
When will we get the next stacked card?

Fabio had such a good run as British champion, it's ironic he finds his level against another Brit.
But that one was decisive and conclusive.

Fraudley is finished
Absolute piss take that this BUM was HANDED a world title after a dodgy win over Fatty Parker, then had the audacity to play Billy Big Bollocks and act like an actual world champion
He might go down as the worst heavyweight champion of ALL TIME.

I think having a great chin can work against you if a shot trips your switch without dropping you. Because you might see the openings in the barrages that follow, and you might be able to stand up to them, but you no longer have sufficient command of your body to coordinate a well-timed reply. Knockwalking.
I'd rather be like Calzaghe and get dropped with amazing powers of recovery.

Re: Round-by-Round: Daniel Dubois vs. Fabio Wardley II | DAZN - 17 October 2026
The difference for me was the speed of Dubois, he had snap in his punches from the off, much more focus and power coming from them.
Personally I think 5 months is enough time between the 2 fights, Wardley got caught by a massive right hand early which can happen to anyone and the brain fog set in from there which Dubois wouldn't let clear with sharp combinations and not single shots.
Wardley could walk away from boxing with his head held high and a pocket full of money, but I think he'll probably stick around for a couple more fights. I would advise him to not too though.
Dubois will move onto unification I guess, he's got that big family to support.

Wardley didn't talk like a man who thinks he's done, but he definitely doesn't need a hard one next time out. Hell give Dave Allen a ring, he'll be down to fight again come next April or whatever.

He could still have his moment in the sun, but he needs a better trainer to drill some defensive nous into him, and to have 3 fights minimum at British level next year. Maybe give Whyte a call.
Re: Round-by-Round: Daniel Dubois vs. Fabio Wardley II | DAZN - 17 October 2026
That wouldn't be a bad one if Whyte still wants to keep fighting. Or Chisora or Joyce for that matter. All 3 of those guys shouldn't fight again, but if they do, those are the kinda guys Wardley oughta be trying to get.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑18 Oct 2026, 01:23 He could still have his moment in the sun, but he needs a better trainer to drill some defensive nous into him, and to have 3 fights minimum at British level next year. A rematch with Parker could be interesting, but he needs some gimmes first. Hell Parker probably does to for that matter considering he's had to sit out a year.

Think obvious one would be Richard Riakporhe for British title , if the board would allow itgilgamesh wrote: ↑18 Oct 2026, 01:27That wouldn't be a bad one if Whyte still wants to keep fighting. Riakporhe is 36 years old and would be a decent payday for him.
