Far too many posters wrote-off Wardley following his obliteration at the fists of Dubois.
For me, the rematch was a merciful ending for Wardley.....destructive, but swift. Not another long, drawn out heavy beating.
While many seem to think Wardley shouldn't go back in the ring again, what's crystal clear to me is that Wardley should never step foot in a ring with Dubois again ! Daniel's power is simply far too much for Fabio.
Wardley may still score some wins over good opposition, without suffering huge damage....just steer well clear of DDD.

Good points. I’m not sure anyone is interested in Dubois - Wardley 3 thoughTHEBUTCH wrote: ↑24 Oct 2026, 13:56 Far too many posters wrote-off Wardley following his obliteration at the fists of Dubois.

I wasn't really interested in Fury V Chisora 2, let alone 3 !

He takes an ungodly amount of punches to the head even when fighting men below Dubois' level.THEBUTCH wrote: ↑24 Oct 2026, 13:56 Far too many posters wrote-off Wardley following his obliteration at the fists of Dubois.

The Dubois rematch demonstrated the body could take no more.
Going to be a cabbage if he continues.
Re: Fabio Wardley
I never wanted to see Wardley back in the ring with Dubois. The first fight was quite enough thank you !
I was genuinely concerned for Wardley's health after about 6 or 7 rounds in the first fight.
DDD is a particularly damaging puncher, not all heavies will be able to punish Wardley in the same manner.
Ultimately it's Wardley's call, but i would tread softly for 2 or even 3 fights if Fabio is going to continue. Equally, he must have cleared a fair bit of dosh, so if he decides to retire and not take anymore whacks to the noggin, you certainly couldn't blame him.

Re: Fabio Wardley
Fabio Wardley can still earn decent paydays against the likes of Dillian Whyte, Joseph Parker, Moses Itauma, Joe Joyce, Zhilei Zhang, Derek Chisora, Jarrell Miller and Lawrence Okolie.
He’d probably even win some of those fights, despite having had his confidence shattered by the brutal defeats to Dubois.

If he couldn't beat Joyce or Whyte he'd be in deep trouble. Chisora or Miller too for that matter.Eolaithe wrote: ↑25 Oct 2026, 13:59 Fabio Wardley can still earn decent paydays against the likes of Dillian Whyte, Joseph Parker, Moses Itauma, Joe Joyce, Zhilei Zhang, Derek Chisora, Jarrell Miller and Lawrence Okolie.

Bakole would be interesting too if he ever fights again.

Re: Fabio Wardley
Fabio Wardley made the right choice to make the rematch vs. Daniel Dubois 'the facts are? He has lost 95% of all the rounds he has fought above domestic level. He was losing vs. Justis Huni and Joseph Parker before he turned those fights around'.
Note: So? If he was to take any other fight outside of Daniel Dubois 'he most likely would have been embroiled in a brutal fight, with the reward just being a win. He made the right move, believed he could win the fight but lost admirably'.
From this point onwards, if he continues in boxing 'I think he should still take the biggest fight opportunities possible. It is clear that skill for skill he is not an elite level fighter, but he is determined and he does have power. Those type of fighters are always going to be dangerous'.
It is why fighters like Anthony Joshua 'who is an elite level boxer with power, no matter how far past his peak his critics believe him to be? His opponents and those very same critics are always going to apprehensive when backing another fighter to beat him. Joshua not only has proven power, he has elite level skill when he executes his best fight'.
There is no point in Fabio Wardley dropping back down to British and European level 'he is not a mega star like Fury or Joshua. Wardley has to take big fights no matter how dangerous they are, and continue to back himself' etc.

Re: Fabio Wardley
And were proved exactly right. What's your point?
Re: Fabio Wardley
I'm not referring to those who said Wardley would lose against Dubois in the rematch , i think the immediate post-fight comments saying Wardley should retire are probably premature.
