historic fights that ended too soon

Post by vman »

ever wonder how fights could turn out?.. with fast KOs.. say in the first 4 rounds... examples (mayweather vs baldomir, KO2, for floyd... ) people say it would never happen, but things happen, like...

tarver vs jones 2, KO 2.

judah vs zoo, KO 2

jones vs griffin 2, KO 1

tyson vs spinks KO 1

any other examples that you guys can think of?

My god man....The horror, the horror. Tua swinging wild shots...The infamous "45" and the quiet ho trying to hug all night...

Sintilating.

Even very good fighters can be caught early on. McCall TKO 2 Lewis is another example.

Wouldn't call it historic but Curry and McCrorys unification fight ended a bit early.

I'm sorry but are you saying that Ruiz is a good fighter?

I wouldn't call those fights that ended too early...

I mean, that's the result. That's what makes these fights notable. I can't really seeing arguing for a few more rounds of Tyson-Spinks. And we saw 12 rounds of Jones-Tarver. Fight 2 was what happens when Jones gets hit flush.

Now if referees or cornermen stopped the fights prematurely then we'd have reason.

But the Hagler-Hearns result is what makes it so noteworthy. Sure it would have been great to have seen them pull a Gatti-Ward but then it's not the same fight, is it?

Ruiz didn't start holding until after the Tua fight. Watch that fight again. When Ruiz gets into trouble, instead of holding and trying to bide his time, he trades with Tua.

Um, I tried to watch it again.....But I couldn't find the 19 seconds of footage. Man, it's taken me longer to post this then that fight lasted.

I can't believe he held World Championship Title belts.

Dempsey-Willard
Dempsey-Carpentier (and some say that Jack carried him as fara s it went)

While it lasted for quite a while Sanchez-Gomez was really all over after round 1.
