There are a lot of intangibles in this one, so I would consider putting a couple of bob on Beyer to spring the upset if I was a betting man. I'm pretty sure that Kessler will have enough to get the job done, but there's a part of that feels Beyer might just be able to pull one last good performance out of the bag. Add that to the fact that Kessler has little experience with southpaws and the fight could be very close over the first half, providing Beyer doesn't get sloppy and eat too many big jabs.
Anyway, it's a weird fight this one, because I'm pretty sure Kessler is going to win it, but there is a kind of doubt nagging away in the back of my mind and I don't know why.

did you see him sparring with Erik??Freiheit wrote:After seeing Kessler sparring I think he will have big difficulties beating Beyer, Kessler simply havent learned to fight southpaws. Im placing a value bet on Beyer to win.
I think Eriks style is very similar to Beyer... fast hands with good movement from southpaw stance.
I hope Kessler can win.... a Beyer win would be bad for the division..
Let Markus ride off into the sunset with his £1million!!!!

I was thinking that too, just the sort of unexpected thing that can happen in boxing while everyone's looking the other way.Halfamill wrote:Imagine Sakio Bika ends up beating Calzaghe and Beyer ends up beating Kessler and the big unification match ends up being Beyer vs Bika part 2. How crazy would that be.
Beyer has a smart team behind him, and no doubt they've got a fight plan to make things very difficult for Kessler tomorrow night.
He got his tactics right the last time everyone expected him to lose, in the 2nd Green fight.

Certainly not impossible - Bika and Beyer are two competent boxers, and as the saying goes with two competent men in the ring anything can happen...Halfamill wrote:Imagine Sakio Bika ends up beating Calzaghe and Beyer ends up beating Kessler and the big unification match ends up being Beyer vs Bika part 2. What are the chances for this? 5 percent perhaps?
