It does make you womder though how serious is he about this comeback of his? When George Foreman started his comeback (doesn't that seem a long time ago know?) he was fighting poor oppotition but at least he was very active.

My guess is that the fights keep falling through when the promoters and people behaind the fight see the condition Bowe is in... this must be about the 3rd fight that has fallen through for him. Even the most callous of promoters must know that Bowe has chronic brain damage and there wont be that many cynical enough to put him in their ring I hope... I mean the guy is totally gone...

Probably a windup.

I tried googling the fight to see if I could find a result. There was certainly enough online press coverage pre-fight (being on the 7th - "tonight sees..." etc) so it's strange in itself that, if the fight didn't materialize, no one has jumped to explain, or just speculate, as to why.

My point was I wouldn't believe anything I read on Eastside until I saw it backed up elsewhere!!

yeah sorry my post was sort of unrelated to the eastside post thing. But I agree with you It's probably a wind up. How someone gets kicks from giving out false Riddick Bowe-George Linberger results though I really do not know :-? The young of today, I don't know.

Bowe may gun shy

Post by Heavymaker »

After his last fight with Billy Zumbrum and the difficulty he had with it, it is possible that Bowe is suffering an acute case of cold feet. Every time a fight is set up, he finds a way, by hook or by crook, to shuttle it. At 38, he does not have much time left for a credible comeback but seems not to be concerned about it.
