FRANCIS and CATLEY comebacks

Post by Autobarn »

What does everyone think?

Francis, who's been campaigning as a cruiser, has decided to fight at light heavy & gun for the British title. This man was special in his prime & I still hope he can have some domestic success. Obviously, the shoulder is always a worry but he is said to have looked god vs Rasani last week.

Catley was one hell of an exciting fighter. Had some great performances, the dodgy loss to Woodhall, the thrilling stoppage of Neville Brown, the KO of Beyer for the WBC super middle title, etc.

Glen's last 2 fights, vs Haussler, were a bit iffy. Be good to see what he can do when he returns.

Brilliant news about Francis campaigning at Light Heavy..... I was very critical of his move to Cruiser, but he was a very big Super Middle - perhaps Light Heavy is the right devision.

If, just if, Francis' shoulder can hold out - I'm telling you I wouldn't like to call him vs Woods.

Yeah, I wondered how he'd be able t hack it at cruiser. Didn't he fight that rough handful Tommy Eastwood & struggle? The likes of Hobson & Macca are far too big - 6' 5, 200-pounders.

Dean said cruiser was his "walking around weight", so I'm surprised he didn't come down sooner.

Dean's looking in much better shape lately.
I'm just not convinced about the shoulder.

He's said the plan is to be more selective, but I can't see him managing at top level with a conservative approach.

Catley was always hugely strong, the question now is stamina and sharpness.

Best of luck to them though.

no doubt francis can challenge for the british title in whats a poor division anyway. if it wasnt for the injuries im sure he'd have had a crack at a world title by now. not convinced with catleys comeback tho

Catley was robbed in that first fight with Haussler, blatant robbery he even dropped thr German to emphasise the "win". I wish Dean Francis well but it seems every comeback the shoulder is healed and ok but i fear it is just a matter of time before it is injured again.
