F r a n k Warren has pulled a masterstroke then. :PWales wrote:Williams Harrison is the undercard.
Cookie harrison is still billed as the main event, although its looking less likely.
At least when Audley stinks the arena out again & the place is half empty, at least he can claim it was the undercard fights!!!!
I've never really taken to Harrison because of the over-egging of his "talent" by the BBC and various others, not least himself! By contrast, although Skelton is a bit crude in his style, I have always admired his determination and his heart - and he strikes me as a down to earth sort of a guy. I'd like to see him wipe the floor with Harrison.
I'm not sure the fight will "stink the joint out". If you think back to the Williams - Harrison fight I'd say BOTH of them combined to make it a dull fight, with neither man willing (in Harrison's case) or able (in William's case) to fight full on and at pace for any length of time. In Skelton-Williams II Matt fought a careful fight, and to be fair it wasn't pretty to watch, though it worked. So if Matt fought like that, and Harrison did a repeat of his showing against DW, then OK, it will stink!
Againt Harrison, I think Matt will come forward aggressively, and Harrison has a number of choice.... fall, run (but you can't run all night), hold and maul, puch back hard...or some combination of these. He probably has the tools to outbox Skelton, and he can hit.... if Matt is pressing him from the start then he will have to use his undoubted ability (Yes, he does have some), or the fight will end early and that's the end of A Force/Farce. If he is genuinely up for a fight then he could cause an upset.
I can't believe I've actually posted something positive about AH (!)....and I'll be rooting for Skelton all the way. Hope it's worth watching....

You're right, both Harrison & Williams were woeful, but in defence of Williams, he hadn't prepared properly & was injured (sounds like an Audley excuse :P ).
It was Harrison who promised the fireworks & belittled Williams mercilessly & just proceeded to show how spineless & how poor his stamina & technique were.
I don't mind a fighter losing, as long as he shows heart, tries his best & goes down fighting.

Its a fight I did want to see happen a good while back and so did Matt but Harrison wasnt interested then - What has Harrison done to deserve a crack at Matt Skelton? - Matt I think wants to prove beyond all doubt he IS the best in Britain and has to do this for personal reasons because there are still some who think Harrison can beat him with better skills - Matt fought an intelligent fight against Williams in their last fight nipping in and out - He was quick on his feet and won by his change in tactics - His usual style of attacking like a bull was not the way to defeat Williams he tried that in their first fight - Matt is now a very improved fighter who will adapt to the man in front of him - I think this match up will see Matt winning and Harrison with nowhere to go.

Dont mean to be picky but skelton looked like a rhino on iceskates against williams it wouldnt have been hard to look good against a lardy williams, if audley can manage to grow a pair of stones in time for this fight and actually fight to his true abilities he will make mincemeat of skelton who for all his undoubted heart is a brawler, sad thing is audley will more than likely shit his pants and run all night.wildwaylon wrote:Its a fight I did want to see happen a good while back and so did Matt but Harrison wasnt interested then - What has Harrison done to deserve a crack at Matt Skelton? - Matt I think wants to prove beyond all doubt he IS the best in Britain and has to do this for personal reasons because there are still some who think Harrison can beat him with better skills - Matt fought an intelligent fight against Williams in their last fight nipping in and out - He was quick on his feet and won by his change in tactics - His usual style of attacking like a bull was not the way to defeat Williams he tried that in their first fight - Matt is now a very improved fighter who will adapt to the man in front of him - I think this match up will see Matt winning and Harrison with nowhere to go.

First i have heard of any hand injury, its irrelevant though as i do think skelton will beat harrison unless audrey has grown some stones in time for the fight.leforge wrote:dont forget skelton beat williams last time with a hand injury, he will murder harrison, if he goes for audley will not cope. Skelton a very tough fighter may have little technique, but he took many hard shots against le boehme in k1 before being stopped, harrison does not hit like that.

Don't forget Audley's appalling stamina.josh fg wrote:I think Skelton is made for harrison because Harrison fights best when he is forced to, Skelton will certainly do that, and the hight thing will also play well into harrisons favore with a fighter who is willing to try and come in.
He will not be able to keep up the high pace that Skelton will probably set & he doesn't have the power to KO a butterfly, so he won't discourage Skelton with punches.
What appauling stamina? Its never realy been tested.Syntax Error wrote:Don't forget Audley's appalling stamina.josh fg wrote:I think Skelton is made for harrison because Harrison fights best when he is forced to, Skelton will certainly do that, and the hight thing will also play well into harrisons favore with a fighter who is willing to try and come in.

I think the failed tests have been the fights he has lost (Guinn & Williams) where his lack of workrate (and willingness to punch) has been the most obvious reason for the loss.josh fg wrote:What appauling stamina? Have you not watched his fights when he is blowing after a few rounds?
What about the comical 11th round against Williams; he was so tired after the ONE onslaught he laid on Williams, that he almost collapsed.
He'd done NOTHING all fight & had no right to be that tired.
I can name other examples, but I think you know where I'm coming from.
