What was the problem before the BBB C wanted to return to the WBC?

As a side, im going to the convention at the end of the month, well to dubrovnik. Trying to find out anything, thats going on anywhere, at anypoint during the week thorugh the WBC is a nightmare. No responses to e-mails etc...

I don't understand.... Never new the BBBoC were not affiliated with the WBC (apart from in the early days).

So how come Witter vs Corley was here for the title and just before that Cook was scheduled to fight in an eliminator here.

Just guessing if this might have something to do with the WBC treatment of Glenn Catley cause of his controvesial loss to Theobola. I know there was all kinds of protests to get an immediate rematch.

how was Catley-Thobela controversial? Never seen the fight myself.

I remmeber there were problems with the IBF after Duke and co won IBF titles. When the IBF wanted to take over British boxing with the IBF-UK. Would take years before we had IBF fights over here again, i.e. Naz-Johnson, Woods-Johnson, etc.

Weren't the Brodie-Chis WBC?

Catley suggested that Thobela's gloves (or more correctly his bandages) were loaded. Having seen footage of said bandages I'd tend to agree: In Catley's words 'It looked like he had mobile phones strapped across his knuckles'... Thobela's hands were (apparently) bandaged with no WBC official present and none were present during the removal either.

Fvcking hell, I suppose that was Thobela's way of 'evening' things up. Considering that Dingaan is a natural lightweight & Catley a solid middle/super middle.

I was always baffled looking at the records. I used to think how in the hell could a fighter as good & fit as Catley lose to a fat bloated pudding.
