A lot of people might say TOO much, especially if you count the Ten lazy performances between each good one.

I remember Ian Darke speculating that it might be £500,000 to £1m. But he also said they never let the figures out.

This is what he said in an interview with fightfan.com
Look, I missed out on the Benn, Eubank and Collins fights. I missed out on the Jones, Tarver and Johnson fights. They all fought each other and made millions. I've been the least paid fighter with this amount of talent.

I hope money fights come better late than never, I'm very motivated about this because of my situation (Joe is having to pay money to his ex-wife). Look at Chris Eubank on his 'bum a month' tours, he got paid every month the amount of my biggest ever payday I had last year(against mandatory Mario Veit).

I hear they pay well over in Germany but more than the Lacy fight? Wasn't MEN sold out? Then again maybe Lacy got the main share, coming over from the US.

There isn't much US interest in 168...look at how many fighters we have in the top 10 of the boxrec rankings....2? And one of them has no right being there.

Wasn't it stated that Hatton was getting £250,000 for most of his WBU title defences.

I would imagine it would be very much around that figure.... if it is indeed true.

Don't know about Calzaghe's average purse, but Frank claimed he paid Hatton £705,000 for the Vilches fight. :o

I think that Calzaghes purse for the Veit fight was close to that. The Germans really did pay over the odds for that. They must have been confident, although I can't think why.

Sorry, it was early in Hatton's WBU reign when the 250,000 was reported (I'm sure it was by Sky, but don't quote me). So I would imagine by the time he got to headline cards with a lesser undercard than the earlier Hatton defences that his purse would increase.

You have to remember that Hatton was a bigger draw in Manchester where most of his fights where at, so obviously bumped up his payday

Not calling you wrong Stu, not by any stretch. Apologies if it seemed that way. The Vilches figure is the one I've read in hard print though. Although, if rumours are to be believed, Frank had to pay over the odds to get Ricky to appear on the card.

One thing that isn't in dispute is that Hatton's earnings have been ridiculous. That purse for the Vilches fight is more than either Castillo or Corrales made for the rematch of one of the best fights I've ever seen, give or take.

Hatton was such a huge draw over here though, even in his WBU reign, that I can't help but think that Fight Academy didn't really look at the figures when they signed him. He's a one of a kind fighter, the first guy to sell huge numbers without the domestic exposure. And, as criticised as he is, that was allegedly's doing. That's still no guarantee that Hatton will draw the attention of the wider world though.

Hatton seems to make out he was getting less than that in his book.

Says about 25 k for the Olivera fight.

if u remember the arena was half empty for that fight between corrales and castillo.

hatton puts bums on seats and therefore the promoter can pay him big purses against less than stellar opposition.

Amazingly the PPV didn't do very impressive numbers either. Very strange. A lot of US fights don't get big crowds, and there are very few fighters who could draw 20,000 to a fight like Hatton could. I wonder how many Oscar drew to his fights?

20,000 at an average of say what, 45 quid a ticket? That's serious wedge. That's almost a million nicker already, without TV money.

For WBU fights Hatton was on 500k-£1m I think
