Froch v Dodson - Dodson has to win!!!!

Post by WildWaylon »

Its awful to say but I dislike froch so much if he was in front of me I would take a swing - OK I would probably get pounded but somehow it would be worth it just to land one on him - I cant stand looking at the arrogant twat never mind listen to him - I cant ever remember feeling so much dislike for any fighter, this guy just makes me feel so angry - Does he do this to anyone else I wonder - Surely I cant be the only person who cant stand him - Through the years there have been fighters I havent much liked but with Froch it is totally different - I know you read this Tony, please , please sort this guy out - I know you can and I truly hope you will - Make Liverpool proud by not just beating but beating up this bigheaded, arrogant idiot that thinks he is good enough to challenge Joe Calzaghe - Get your belt back and prove this man is just a windbag because to me thats all he is.

I don't understand the froch hate, he takes hard fights and talks a good fight to get publicity for the sport. I would happily see ether guy win cos seeing them fight for a european belt would be good for british boxing. I make no seacrat that Id favor froch to win.

Thanks Tony I hoped you would enter the thread - Somebody used the word hate and that is reserved only for the ex - I really dislike Froch and who better to teach him a boxing lesson than you - Yes you do have the power and I want him to feel it - I want to see you take the belts back to liverpool and be the champ again - Good luck mate and do the business.

Dodson will probably give a good account of himself, but i don't really give him much chance.

Anyway... regardless of who wins, I just hope the fight actually happens...

well i`ve got a feeling tony will win after seeing that piece sky did on him on friday, shown on the ponce de leon fight program.
he spoke very well to camera and came across as a man on a mission, his belfast training regime looked gruelling, especially those hill runs wearing 20Kg weighted jackets.
frochs a good fighter with a great chin but he does start to carry his arms low as the fight progresses.

 :D

Not this time around, i've learned my lesson!

Froch is there for the taking, its only a matter of time before someone takes his scalp. I reckon Dodson has a very good chance here, i just hope he can perform to his best on the night.

I noticed some time back he was priced up around 4/1, i was quite shocked by that. Cant find any recent odds though.

4/1 ? Tony's a good boxer, but I'd want even longer odds than that if I was parting with my money.

At best Dodson can run Froch ragged but still come up short or at worst , things could get quite one sided.

Froch may there for the taking a world level or even top notch Euro level (though unlikely) time will prove the doubters wrong or right, but not at British level he ain't.

Tony's always seemed a decent bloke on the forums, but Carl is one of my fave fighters. His cockiness and arrogance makes me laugh, whether you love him or hate him Carl always provokes a reaction from people and as they say all publicity is good publicity. Either way you've got to repect the way Carl has conducted his career i.e the traditional route, and you've got to respect his choice of opponents so far IMO. I must admit though that I don't agree with Carl saying that Dodson has been using excuses not to fight him (re:withdrawals), but I rckon he's just been saying this to get under Tonys skin

Carls got his flaws as everybody keeps pointing out (low hand, switches off for rounds), but he's got some massive pluses as well in his speed, shot selection and he looks to have one of the best chins in boxing IMO.

I've not seen too much of Tony in action against a decent level of opponent, but I can't see him beating Carl. I reckon Carl comes on strong down the stretch and stops Dodson in about the 8th or 9th after losing a couple of rounds along the way, in an excellent fight. Can't wait

I don't thin Froch's speed is anything to write home about. He obviously has decent power but his technique is flawed. He may well get away with it at domestic and perhaps European level but in true world class he will get found out. I'll be having a wager on Dodson here.

Yes, I've seen little evidence of Froch's much vaunted speed. He's very flat footed but on the plus side his punches do seem to be hard to anticipate due to his awkward stance. He's certainly no speedster though.

Best of luck Tony.

I see this fight as going fairly even in the early rounds, but just have a feeling Froch will be too slick and his shots will tell in the later rounds.

Froch on points.

I like Froch's big mouth, he's used it to speak out about the gun culture in Nottingham and he's talked up every fight he's had to the benefit of boxing generally and himself mainly but no complaints here.

Dodson can beat Froch and Froch can beat Dodson so it's a must see fight, who will out-think or out-tactic or befuddle the other? Time will tell.

Good article about Tony in Boxing Monthly too. :TU:

Says he was once a local poster boy for the Garston Community when he was the British champ.

What Amateur gym did you start off in Tony in your amateur days? There doesn't seem to be many near Garston.

The BM article. :TU:
I really enjoyed reading that, it was a good article. I still think Tony will (narrowly) come up short, but I can't wait to see this one.
