That fight is two days from now...

Sergei Liakhoich- 23 wins, 1 loss, 14 knock outs

Strengths- Hand Speed, Combinations, Determination
Weaknesses- Questionable Chin, Lack of Punching Power

Greatest Wins- W12 Lamon Brewster, W10 Dominick Guinn, W10 Friday Ahunanya, W8 Sederick Fields

Lone Loss- LKO 9th Maurice Harris

Shannon Briggs- 47 wins, 4 losses, 1 Draw, 41 knock outs

Strengths- Punching Power, Experience, Short-Counter Punches
Weaknesses- Problems with Tacticians, Weight (270+)

Greatest Wins- Ray Mercer KO7, George Foreman W12, Francois Botha D10, Luciano Zolyone KO1st

Losses- KO5 Lennox Lewis, L10 Jameel McCline, L8 Sederick Fields, LTKO3 Daroll Wilson

After 1,000 computer simulations....

The computer picks Shannon Briggs to win over Sergei Liakhovich, as Briggs has the higher win percentages for this fight.

Btw....I also ran the Baldomir/Mayweather bout as well.

After 1,000 simulations the computer gave "Pretty Boy" the nod.

Though in my opinion, on both fights of Briggs/Liakhovich and Baldomir and Mayweather, they will be harder fights than expected for either men, pretty much a toss up in my opinion.

Rubbish, the computer doesnt take into account that Briggs is a glass chinned roider whose only fought bums since 2000... I could have koed his recent opponents and I'm about 80 pounds lighter... I'll be surprised to see Briggs last the distance... :box: :box: :box:
If he wins I'll become a monk!... :x :-? 8) 8)

The statistics are my own personal views on each fighter. Mind you, I did not take my observations into what the computer 'sees' in either man. I just ran the fights.

In my opinion Briggs will win it, just as the computer sees it. Liakhovich is a fast and determined man, but judging from the win over Brewster, if he's pressured enough he will crumble, and Briggs is a fighter who beats guys to the punch, shorter, closer punches, is a banger, goes for the kayo and relentless.

Me too. I don't think Lyko is the saviour of the HW division, but if he has any kind of tactical awareness he should be able to box Briggs for long enough until he starts to gas.

So you're picking Briggs?

Although I think Lyakhovich is very extremely over-rated due to the one win against Brewster, I certainly do not see Briggs winning in any way and if he does it will surprise the hell out of me...not because Lyakhovich is so good, but because Briggs is so average! But if Lyakhovich wants to hold on to his trinket for a while then he will need to continue fighting opponents like Briggs as he does not have a lot of talent skill-wise and he sure as hell does not have big-time punch. He does have toughness, but rarely is toughness alone enough, but with this current crop of heavyweights, as long as he stays away from Klitschko then he should do well!
