Jason Booth comeback
I see Jason Booth is making a comeback on Friday, will be good to see him back in the ring, he's been out for almost 2 years, think he had alot of problems outside of the ring, drink being one of them.
So it will be interesting to see what he still has left, Jason was always a good value boxer, won a great contest with Dale Robinson in 2004.

I get the Booth boys outside activities a bit mixed up. Which one has done a bit of time? Was it Jason or Nicky?
Jason (IMO) was the better brother in the ring and it will be good to see him back. Bantamweight is fairly exciting domestically at the moment - Booth vs Power would be a cracker. I am assuming he will return as a Bantam, being that couple of years older.

It was Nicky who got put in prison, for burglary and theft, he was addicted to crack. When he got out Nicky was hopeful of getting back in the ring, but i think the board had problems with him , also because he was tagged he couldn't box on any evening shows.
Last i heard he was back on the pipe, sad if he is.

Sorry to change the subject slightly, but is it just me that is annoyed with the advertisement in Boxing News that features khaliq? Next to his image it says 'current IBO welterweight champion'. Very petit I know but annoys me every week. He's RETIRED. Maybe claude should point this out to the company but then again why would he when they bring money in. Rant over.DavidPayne wrote:Along with Khaliq, they made for some great nights at the Harvey Hadden.

Thought Jason looked quite good tonight, i know you got to take the opponent into consideration, but after the first couple of rounds Booth started to find his range more, He's still got nice quite hands, switched from body to head well.
Nicky Booth was in the crowd, camera went onto him quickly, he looked in good shape, hopefully my earlier post is wrong, and he's off the drugs.

I don't think anyone has excused Nicky for his action, or even said he had an excuse for his actions.Spud wrote:Shame?????
What the f*ck are people on about on here??
Did anyone read what Booth got banged up for??
And some of you lot give him excuses!!!
for f*ck sake!!!
The only person who said the word shame was C2ute, and I read it in the context that its shame he did those crimes not a shame he porbably would never get relicenced.
Saying the opposite to what C2ute said would be like saying "I'm glad Booth went off the rails" and therefore "glad he commited the crimes". Nobody thinks like that, nobody is condoning his action, people are sad that he resorted to those actions.
I agree with stu on this one.stujones wrote:I don't think anyone has excused Nicky for his action, or even said he had an excuse for his actions.Spud wrote:Shame?????

Boxer gets banged up - they should throw away the key, no more chances right?
And crikey, if Nicky Booth turned his life and career around - well that's not on is it now?

Way OTT Spud. I'm not saying Booth deserves sympathy for his crimes but the kid is troubled and I don't think he asked to be an addict. He has an illness.
