How talented was this guy?
Looking through my old BM issues from 2004 and they had him ranked top 10 in the world scene.

He was a decent fighter, tall and rangy, he had heart but to me, he always looked chinny. Like Stujones said he was European level at best, and maybe not even that. His fights were worth watching, his up & down affair with Bergman was something else.
He had a good following i remember. He was good for the sport, just an honest hardworking decent guy who found his talent was boxing and tried to make the best of it. He had a good career and should be proud of it!

Obviously domestic title class, possibly European - but no chance world.
Wasnt there talk of Delahoya at one point....that would of been over quick.
I understood the reason to be that SKY stopped paying for IBO title fights. This would have meant JK could either keep fighting under IBO for less money, or find another route to televised bouts. At his stage in his career, he may have thought this not worth the effort.Max Molyneux wrote:Seemed he retired because he couldn't get any meaningful fights.
Why was that?

Always brought a good crown and atmosphere with him, but i'm not sure where he really stood in terms of ability.
I remember seeing him against Dzuman and he was very poor, he then went in with Bergman and had an up and downer. Bergmann went on to be destroyed by Hare in two rounds, and looked worn out at the same time.
What has happened to Hare btw?
So it is kinda hard to guage where his level truly was. Still, it is a shame to see him slide of the radar without any official word.
