Its a sad endictment on the state of the division when a man who Lennox sparked over 10 years ago can come back and claim a version of the title.

Agreed. Was expecting him to come in flabby but was very surprised to see how muscular he looked.

he looks so much "bigger" than he use too..

looking at his record he's gone from 228lbs against lennox in 98' to 268lbs on saturday....and looking at him alot of that weight gain looks to be muscle

if he's done it fair and square good on him but you've got to have doubts these days

Not really good on him pasty, he's been reduced to a ridiculously low punch output and his stamina wasn't up to much even back when he was in the 220's. I don't think he's done it legally but either way it's not helping him.

People saying a guy Lennox beat comfortably is now world champ but the really said thing is a guy McCline beat easily is now a world champ. I'd love to see Brewster come back and knock him out but as this is the WBO and as Briggs has never really been one for fighting the best I expect him to fight a line of scrubs, earning what he can off the back of being America's heavyweight champ until one of them beats him.

No way in the world does Briggs get involved in a unification

That was one hella KO and not many of the current HW's are KO'ing fighters like that,

Because it was 11 absolutely dull rounds before that. Most are saying it was the worst heavyweight title fight in history.

Even that last round was crap, Max. Decent punch - but Sergei was out on his feet through exhaustion and yet Briggs was as bad that he needed 2:59 to finish him.

Briggs has been harping on about he knew he needed something special going into the last.... but he didn't fight like that, he didn't even fight like that after he put Sergei down.

It was crap.

I think Skelton beats him, I really do.

Terrible conditioning, Briggs couldn't even hold his hands up and had hardly thrown anything for 11 rounds previously. He really needs to lose some bulk, his stamina was below average when he was in the 220's.
