Anybody hear anything about Witters next fight yet?

Post by johnswan1 »

Hopefully he won't leave it another year again.

Since the Demitius Hopkins fight fell through, has anybody heard anything else as to who his next opponent will be, whether it will be in the States or over here, and whether they are doing some sort of deal with Goldenboy?

Saw his latest post on myspace from Wednesday 1st of November where he says:

It's been a month and half since I won the title and I'm still receiving loads of messages of support and congrats. I do my best to get round to replying to all of them, but forgive me if I miss any.

My win has sunk in now. I am a world champion - the WBC world champion. I have fulfilled a lifelong ambition. But... there is still so much more for me to target.

I have to defend my title and there are a lot of BIG fights out there for me. I have already to started to focus on my upcoming challenges - my team will be bringing you details soon.

Thanks again, JW

Why not ask on his myspace? A pity Corrales is going to 147 as that be a massive fight for Junior. I wouldnt be against a keep busy against Bami or Maussa or even giving Augustus a shot. The biggest best fights at 140 must be Hatton/Mbaiye/Corrales/Castillo - only Mbaiye is realisable in the enxt 12months unless the other 3 do some U Turns. Been WBA and WBC would make Witter a much larger player despite the fight itself not being the most massive of draws

I can't see Warren putting M'Baye in with Witter, just not going to happen.

Plus Hennessy will want Witter defending that belt on his cards.
