The WBC belt is nothing special. Better than the the WBU/WBF/IBO? Yes. But it's still a fornicating farce.

As for your other questions: No.

Agreed; Basically they are all built on favouritism, corruption, and bribery.

Most fighters like the green belt best - WBC - think it's been around the longest and has the recogntion factor. WBA came next, then the IBF 20 years later in the 1980's.

Then lastly, and leastly, the WBO.

But of course it doesn't really matter which belt you hold, as long as it's one of the big four, it's who you've beaten to take the belt that really counts.

Mighty your a bit of a boxing historian so perhaps you can confirm if it was the WBC that was the original.

I thought in the Bruno vs Lewis fight, Mike Goodhall said the 1993 marks the 30th Anniversary of the title.

What was the belt that Dempsey etc won, and what was the belt that Ernie Terrell won.

yeah i thought the wba was before the wbc too, i thought the wbc was regarded as the better belt, at least in the u.k anyway, because that was the one the bbbc hung its hat on way back.

Yup, the WBA was founded in 1921 when it was originally called the NBA :TU:

Changed it's name to WBA in 1962

The wbc is not the oldest belt, of the belts still in existence the wba is the oldest; the old greats like SRR or Henry Armstrong did not hold either, nine of the belts around now are all that old.. In the good old days the NYSAC belt was premier and after that the IBC which no longer exists. So no, the wbc is not the "best" belt, there is no best belt it all depends on who you beat to get your belt. Calzaghe has not got the wbc but who cares? The super middleweight division is an anachronism anyway and Witter is not better based purely on which belt he holds; we don't know how good Witter is until someone batters him which to this date, the Judah fight included has not happened.

Esham Pickering or anybody else for that matters lineage is irrelevant.

I hope this answers all questions and I would like to thank my momma and Elvis.
