VIP BOXING EVENT 12TH NOVEMBER 2006
Despite this being a very stressful show with medical issues , pull outs etc VIP still managed to put a show together that did not let the paying public down. When things are going against you the easy option is to pull the show , but that is the last resort for the team at VIP and they worked hard to arrange the following contests :-
CHRIS P BACON v ONEAL 'BIG RED' MURRAY - Over eager on his return Chris went flying at his opponent and the first minute was very rough. However after slipping and getting a standing count , Chris composed himself and picked out 2 corking punches to flatten the Brixton boy with a very impressive finish.
ALEX MATTVIENKO v TOMMY FLYNN - With his original opponent Ali Mateen pulling out on Friday we managed to draft in a new guy for Matt to fight. Credit must be given to Tommy for taking the job on short notice and for a few rounds he did OK catching Matt with a few shots , however class and fitness showed in round 5 when pinned on the ropes taking shots Tommy was saved by the referee with a timely stoppage.
CRAIG BUNN v DEAN WALKER - A draw was given here after what looked like a comfortable fourth win for Craig. Again Dean had been found on short notice coming in on 72 hours but with a stone advantage over Craig. Despite this weight difference Craig took the fight to Dean and looked to win at least 4 rounds and possibly draw 2 , the referee did not see it that way and give a 58-58 draw.
DANNY HARDING v PETER BUCKLEY - Again a Friday pull out by Adam Kelly left us searching for an opponent for Danny and on Saturday we had to switch Peter from his fight against Abdhul Rashid to box Danny. Danny was always in control and took it nice and easy, just picking his punches and trying to learn a few things as he coasted to 4-0.
STUART McFADYEN v ANTONY HANNA - The Colne super-bantamweight started off nicely behind his jab and at one stage looked that he may stop Hanna in his comeback fight despite giving half a stone away. However as Tony shook off the ring rust he got better and made the last few rounds competitive ,it was a great learning fight for Stuart.

Any word on the Ali Nuumbembe Commonwealth title situation. I was going to make a seperate thread on it, but I hope maybe you or Chado could answer.
Word is that Magee vs Anderson is set for early next year (on Sky).... but Nuumbembe (Commonwealth) has been mandatory much longer than Eamonn (British).... Surely Kevin will get stripped?
