The former World Bantamweight champ passed away this weekend from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.

I'm very surprised to see how few people have chimed in on this thread, this guy was a terror and arguably top 20 bantamweight of all time.
He had to be pretty old by now as I remember my dad talking about him in the mid to late fifties. A win over Gilroy was pehaps a defining moment early fifties maybe? My brain is getting rusty with some memories.
May his fighting spirit find peace.....He was a bit of an intellectual (or loony) as well and likened himself to Joan of Ark in the fight with Gilroy as I recall. French national but Algerian as I recall......anyone know anything more about him?
