to Meneer van Dutch:

Is there any world champ from Netherlands unless Regilio Tuur?

I'm afraid not, unless you count Don Diego Poeder and Nordin Ben-Salah's WBU and Raymond Joval's IBO titles. I also believe Eddie Smulders won the NBO or NBA title in his fight with Iby Zimmerman, but I'm not 100% sure about this.

I just called meneer van Dutch, and no, there isn't or ever has been a Dutch worldchampion. Even Tuur's WBO championship has to be taken lightly, since the WBO didn't have the credibility at the time he held it it has now[well,.......]. As Wouter already mentioned, Eddie Smulders did win a title in Curacoa against Ibi Zimmerman, but this title is about as credible as the "world heavyweight title" Richel Hersisia holds now. I also remember Alex Blanchard fought for a lightheavyweight "world title" at the Jaap Edenhal in Amsterdam in, I believe 1985 [check his record on boxrec] against a Canadian middleweight with a heartdisease who hadn't been in the ring for a couple of years. [no joke]. It was such a scam that it was actually funny. The only Dutch fighters I can remember that fought for one of the credible boxing organizations were Rudy Koopmans [lost to Eddie Mustapha Muhammad, unintentional headbutt, ruled as a TKO] in LA ,and Eddie Smulders vs. Lou del Valle [ del Valle won by a legit stoppage, floored Smulders about 3 times, he almost fell on my lap twice] in Germany. Maybe I forgat someone, but that's all I can remember now. I am sure though that there has never been a "legit" worldchampion from Holland as yet.

There have been many decent fighters from the Netherlands, lots of European champs. But i guess what my countrymen just summed is all there is/was.
Rudy Lubbers fought in a non-title fight against a certain Mohammed A. , just 3 months before Ali would win Ali-Frazier II

I'd also like to mention the forum poster Dutch Windmill, who reached the semi-finals in the regional northern championships in 2002. He is still awaiting an answer from Roy Jones management. It's obvious Jones is ducking him.

Hey pvd62, why did your change your name?

Why did I change my name???....How the hell did you find out I changed my identity???....Dutch people, they are sooooo smart....... :D

Anyway, this morning I woke up and somebody, don't now who [God?????.....which one of them????] told me pvdh62, from now on your name is Vanbilderass.......[shocking, kinda like Big George's experience after the Jimmy Young fight]....... and I figured it just matched my personality perfectly. So there you have the reason.

This voice didn't tell me about any plans from Roy Jones about fighting the Dutch Windmill yet......... I'll keep you posted though......
