Trup was informed that only the Americans were getting paid the prize money, so he decided not to attend. He had flight booked, room booked etc. Advertisment for Blue and Gold was very unclear.

They are from the same club. Kooner is boxing pro for GYM in Montreal. He suffered his first loss on Friday night in England.

Up comes Frazier! Up comes Frazier!

By Dave Spencer, FightNews Canada

Former world heavyweight champion Smokin’ Joe Frazier is coming up to Canada. Frazier joins the man who lasted four rounds with him in 1967, George Chuvalo in a fund raiser for the Canadian Liver Foundation. The event which will include dinner, live boxing, and musical entertainment will be held at Toronto’s Liberty Grand Ballroom, the crown jewel of Exhibition Place, restored to its original 1920’s luster. A four time ‘Fight of the Year’ recipient, Frazier of course is best remembered for his trilogy of great fights with Muhammad Ali, including their final battle, 1975’s ‘Thrilla in Manila’. Cigar rolling, custom cars, and a live auction all add to what should be a memorable evening with proceeds going to the Canadian Liver Foundation’s hepatitis research and education programs. The boxing portion of the evening will feature former Olympian Adam Trupish, current world amateur champion Mary Spencer, Glenn Hunter and Eric Martel-Bahoeli. Information on the event can found at boxingintheballroom.ca or by contacting Fightnews.

No, Trupish is still competing as an amateur. He boxed in the USA vs. Canada dual at the end of October and defeated Boyd Melson.
