That's what I mean, it's not Wlad's chin so much that is his problem, as his fighting heart and composure under fire. Lewis' chin wasn't terrible, but he could be hurt with a single big shot. The only time I ever saw Lewis look really solid was against Mercer, but although tough and a mean Hombre, Mercer wasn't a massive puncher.
As long as there is the sport of Boxing sooner or later another great Heavyweight will come along.glittermonkey wrote:I think maybe we should start getting used to the fact that there might never be a truly great heavyweight again.
However we may all be in the Boxrec nursing home by then sitting in our chairs looking out of the staring window awaiting our next dose of medication and saying things like "There will never be another Audley Harrison" and "I'm sure that bloke who does our laundry is Amir Khan?" and "Nurse! I've had an accident again and need wiping down".

Still, our senility will always be welcomed on the current scene.KOJOE90 wrote:As long as there is the sport of Boxing sooner or later another great Heavyweight will come along.glittermonkey wrote:I think maybe we should start getting used to the fact that there might never be a truly great heavyweight again.

But does Sanders still have the DRIVE and the IRON chin to participate at the top level, or WOOD he FLAG when PUTT under pressure?lvlarc_uk wrote:I believe he didn't make the cut but now it looks like he's ready to TEE off on Wilson.nickd wrote:He must be in his 40s by now, perhaps he's blown his money?

Sanders is putting his name out there to make another quick easy payday, brain cells be damned!
He's not going to get into any shape, but once he marmalises one or two disinterested flabby US journeymen he'll be in there with one of the chumpions. From an entertainment standpoint, will all be very entertaining, from a boxing loving standpoint, its wrist slittingly depressing.

I was considering CHIPPING in to yet another pun fest, but I've lost my DRIVE, and after a night on the tiles I'm feeling too ROUGH anyhow and am a bit GREEN around the gills - not feeling very CHIPPER to say the least.Riddick Blowe wrote:But does Sanders still have the DRIVE and the IRON chin to participate at the top level, or WOOD he FLAG when PUTT under pressure?lvlarc_uk wrote:I believe he didn't make the cut but now it looks like he's ready to TEE off on Wilson.nickd wrote:He must be in his 40s by now, perhaps he's blown his money?
I also think we should give consideration to boxrec patrons who cannot SAND bad puns. Let's just give it up
So that's enough. Corrie's comeback may be interesting, but imo he was only ever a FRINGE operator at world level anyway, who had a FAIRWAY to go to match the greats.

Sanders would only need to SWING in the direction of Harrison and Audley would run out of the ring. Another comeback that will amount to nothing. These current champs look easy on the box but at 40yrs old and semi-retired Sanders will find the monotonous training regime of a boxer to be his downfall. I just can't see him being arsed.KOJOE90 wrote:Maybe the winner of Skelton v Harrison should try and tempt Corrie over to the UK for a fight.![]()
Skelton vs Corrie could be a short amusing fight and how about Harrison vs Corrie.![]()
