Blimey loftgroove, your naivete surprises me. The sanctioning bodies merely exist to administrate the sport, the promoters are the ones who make it happen. what happens is that promoters get on the blower to the sanctioning bodies and try and lobby for their fight to be ranked here or there. The better a promoters relationship with a certain sanctioning body, the better their chances of getting them ranked, or getting them an eliminator. Look at Hobson's work for Clinton with the IBF, sterling work from the man, and it's paid off.
You need only look at allegedly's fighters' and the preponderence of WBO champions over the years, to realise that Frank has worked hard to make sure that the WBO play ball and support him and his fighters.
That's not a criticism of Frank by the way, any promoter would do the same, and it's just a testament to his persistence and dogged determination that he has managed to corrall the WBO into his way of thinking. The WBO have made a fortune over the years from the likes of Hamed Benn, Eubank, Calzaghe, Harrison, etc in sanctioning fees, and for that, they are to Warren eternally grateful.
That my friend is the bottom line. The chances are that Hennessy have worked long and hard with the WBC to get their fighters ranked, after all, it worked for Junior Witter didn't it?
