Someone who is bothered????

I notice the likes of you contribute to the various which have hurled insults at myself and Carey ... you need to congratulate yourself!!! ... yet again those threads are the busiest on the various forums with the most hits!!!

Ummmm ... is your boxing knowledge lacking that much that you need to hurl insults at me?? if that is the case I need to recommend a particular forum to you.

Do you have any thoughts on Dodson/Froch or are you too busy thinking of your next playground insult.

What a prick! I didn't mind anything either yourself nor Carey said until you started coming up with the above. Talk about blowing your own trumpet. I don't think many people give a shit what opinions you have on either fighter, as long as it's not just been said deliberately and stupidly for the sake of trying to get a rise out of anybody else in here. If you have anything of interest to add to the forum, I'm sure it would be welcolmed and you'd probably get some more respect. Currently the only thing you seem to be adding to is your own unpopularity.

You clearly have some long standing issues with the lads here which I know nothing about but if you can't get around that or sort things out with them you may as well piss off somewhere else.

Seems to be getting just as nasty between posters as it is between the two who are going to battle it out tomorrow - I keep reading people say Froch is world class but I cant see that - His style gets him wins now but at world level I see it letting him down badly - Its a showboating style and when you fight the worlds best who can hit, not covering up is madness - Fighters must have confidence and belief in themselves but they must also have respect for their opponents - Another fighter, I think from Bristol, cant just remember his name right now has the same style and lost his first fight earlier this year - I think he was about 14 and 0 before the fight - Hammed went all the way to the top using the same or similar style but again at world level it let him down - To me its a piss taking stance "you cant catch me" and "you cant hurt me" but sooner or later somebody does or in the case of Froch somebody will - I like to see two boxers who respect each others skills even if there is a bit of hype before the fight - Yes, I do want to see Froch taken down a peg, maybe Dodson can do it or maybe he cant but somebody will and probably next year - I would love to see Joe Calzaghe show him a thing or two.

I spoke about Froch's arrogance only the other day ... I think it is all a front ... dam good bloke when he is on his own!!!

With regards to Dodson ... if the hype and b*llocks were put to one side just for a second ... I believe if he had a chance it was sometime ago.

His inactivity and lack of quality opponents in the last couple of years I believe has put paid to any chance he had.

But was he that good in the first place??

In all fairness to Spud and Ben, I think they've come in for a little bit of unfair stick on this thread. I know they both have a fair bit of 'previous history' on various forums in the past, but I think they were both simply voicing an opinion -- admittedly a subjective one -- when posting here. I suspect that the fact that they disagree with a the majority of posters has been used by one or two as an opportunity for 'pay back'. Which may or may not be reasonable depeding on your point of view.

However, back to the matter at hand.

I don't prescribe to the opinions of a group, the leading member of which seems to be Carl Froch, which argues that Carl Froch is World Class. He's had far too many problems, and shipped far too many punches against top British/middle-of-the-road European level fighters to be realistically considered as the starlet he claims to be.

To be sure, he's got a fantastic chin and power at this level, and his style is certainly exciting, but I think his defence is weak and he will come unstuck once he gets to a higher level.

He's not fighting at that higher level on Friday, though, and he should still have too much for Dodson, who is another fighter whose record doesn't match his own hype. Dodson -- going by his past record and performances -- should be considered of no greater quality than Magee, Porras, Groenewald and the rest, and despite his much vaunted power, I expect Froch's superior high level experience and conditioning to prove decisive in the latter half of the fight.

Why???

Froch is probably our best hope of a genuine world champion at the weight, so why do you want to see him beaten? Its just typical of people in this country that we'd rather get behind a plucky loser than an arrogant winner.

And some people wonder why as a nation we usually win f**k all...

I hope Froch wins, and wins well. I couldn't give a toss if he isn't "humble"...

I agree Carbo on the first paragraph (welcome to the forum BTW). Whilst my personable believe is that Spud and Ben's view maybe a tad tainted cause of comments on the past between the two and Tony. I do think they have been quite restrained and some of the comments against them have been injust.

I disagree that Tony is a "Keyboard warrior", and I disagree that Tony is a bottler with no heart. I do think Ben is a bit wrong to call his view unbiased and fact base - cause its opinion. I hope I am not wrong in thinking that the way Ben has written his arguement he doesn't believe Tony reasoning all the time he has pulled up.... Fair enough I supose, but then it is his purely subjective opinion and not NECESSARILY fact base. Personally, I think Tony was geniunally injured - I'd like to give most boxers the benefit of the doubt. The only time I have doubted the intergrity was when Joe Calzaghe pulled out the first time vs Johnson. For me, Joe wasn't physically ready to fight - but I think that was due to a messy divorce and going out to the clubs with Bellamy more than a back injury. Come to think of it, I do/did doubt Gary Locket's injury prior to his scheduled fight with Elcock and Scott Harrison's injury for the Guzman fight. However, I did have hindsight in making those claims (Lockett jumping around in Newport watching Enzo; Scott's problems since).

As far as I am aware, although I haven't the contacts (or friends of friends) with Tony that Ben has, but I cannot recall a single reason for doubting Tony's reasoning.

Also, I do disagree with Ben regarding Tonys defeats.... I cannot remember then being labelled bottled jobs. Fair enough, question his stamina and ability - I have in the past. But not his bottle, again I think this is very subjective.

However, we are ALL entitled to our opinion. I think David Haye is a poser who is more interested in looking good than Boxing. I have NOTHING to really suggest this is the case... but its my opinion and I'm entitled to it. Am I right or wrong? I don't know but it is still my belief, and I do think I will be proved right when he meets someone of decent ability, with decent power, who can take his shots. If Fragomeni had a little bit more on his shots, I think he would have won.

Aslong as the opinion as stressed as such (an opinion) and not argued as fact and everyone is wrong... then I don't see a problem.

It is quite clear that Spud doesn't like Tony and is mates with Froch, so its fair enough if he wants Froch to win. Wanting Dodson to take a beating (with him being okay) might be a bit much... but still fair enough. I often said I hope Marco Antonio Barrera kicks Hamed's arse - so its no more than that. We all have our favourites, but maybe to try and covert the posters who like the fact that Tony posts her and suggest its "bad" that we want him to win is a bit much. Giving it the old I'm not bias "and boxrec is cause he posts here" is not necessarily true cause "we" are as bias for Dodson as the boxingtalk mods are cause of their spats.

Stu & Rest Of Boxrec ....

Dodson & Froch ...

My main point is ... it is an awfully big ask for Dodson isn't it ... just look at his record over the last couple of years!!! Look at the frequency he has fought ...

Yet people give him a big chance against a guy the likes of Oscar D H are saying is going to be a world champion ... ODH does not make those sort of statements too frequently ...

Are a lot of you lot letting your dislike of Froch taint your opinions on his abilities as a boxer??

Well let's get this straight, 99% on here are predicting a Froch win on the other thread. He's a massive favorite after all.

Just wishing Dodson some luck, as most boxing fans would of any two fighters getting in the ring, unless you have a vested interest.

To be honest, I haven't seen many who has picked Dodson to win.

Does Dodson deserve the shot? Yes, but only cause Froch has beaten his two nearest domestic rivals (Barney and Magee) assuming Reid is at least in semi retirement, and way too soon for Catley.

If you look at my P4P list, I have Froch in the top ten. Ahead of some EBU champions, I do hold him quite highly. I don't think he would beat Calzaghe or Kessler but I think he would beat geniune top tenners.

Well I don't know DLH personally to know if he brands about "future world champions" around often concerning his fighters. Has he actually seen Carl fight? I don't think I have seen him ringside.... I'm just jesting here, I don't doubt that Froch is a top ten fighter and I would have tipped him to capture the WBC title, had Kessler not got there first.

Its a huge ask! As big as David Walker vs Roman Karmazin.... No harm in wanting him to win though... even if we don't know the "real" Dodson.

Sorry but I thought we already had an IBF/WBO champion at SMW unless you dont count Calzaghe because he is Welsh - Of course I back British sportsman as an Englishman and tomorrows fight is Notts v Liverpool so I could support either - As for Froch being world class, I doubt it very much but time will tell - Most fighters show a bit of confidence before a fight which is fine and important and very different to being down right arrogant.

In terms of the level of dislike both engender in the fans of their respective sports, Froch IS the Robbie Savage of boxing. Nobody likes him (almost nobody anyway), but he doesn't care.

Spud wrote:Let me make something perfectly clear despite some of the bollocks written by some posters who are saying the opposite about myself and Ben Carey ...

I actually respect Dodson as a fighter ... I also highly respect him for getting into the ring with a fighter like Carl Froch ... I will say again ... in my opinion Carl Froch is a world class fighter and Dodson is in my view a domestic class fighter who has done extremely well for himself.

Dodson in my view has come onto these forums to court favour and support and all because the likes of me and others disagree with him we are the ones that are disrespful?? ... absolutely mystifying!!!

I will state yet again for those who try to twist absolutely everything and only read certain posts with "selective" reading ...

I hope Tony Dodson will leave the ring 2morrow evening nice and healthy so he can re-enter the banter on the respective forums ... but I am not going to begin to suggest I wish him luck 2morrow because I don't!!! I want and think Froch will thoroughly outclass him and then Froch will go onto proving what a world class boxer he is ...

As for Dodson ... clearly a courageous boxer who has done fantastically well for himself ... but as a person I cannot stand him and think he is rather shallow that it is he who resorted to the insults first concerning Froch and just because a couple of months ago I started calling him "Dodgeson" because there is a clear audit trail of him failing to turn up for whatever reasons to fight Froch then it is me who is the criminal.

I want Carl Froch to win ...

I want Carl Froch to win by KO ...

I want Carl Froch to win by a thoroughly convincing and world class performance.

If Dodson wins ... I have no problems in congratulating the better man ... no problems at all!!!
so the man who has retired from boxing forums makes an appearence less than a week after hanging up his giz covered key board.

your post is in total contradiction to the torrent of abuse you threw at tony dodson on boxing talk......what wrong big man, are you worried that you might meet him one day so you are backing off now !!

you wound him up on boxing talk, calling him 'dodgeson'etc, c**t etc....tony then replied, and you deleted your post (in true spud fashion) and left his there to make him look like the guilty party.... not that many saw it over there of course.

i have never known such a two faced blinkered arse licking toss pot. the hatred you have conjoured up on these forums over the years has been thoroughly deserved, and i know all of the crap posted on here about you eats away deep, very deep. but you cant delete it on here, great isnt it !!

you knock dodson for posting on the forums, but if femi or hatton (or whoevers posters you have on your bedroom wall at the moment) posted on any forums then you would be completely submerged in their rectums, head forst.

go back to your own place you shallow idiot.

So forum ... on this thread ... what insults have either myself or Carey thrown at anyone?? ... Shall I help you ... Carey has used the words "Keyboard Warrior" ... my my isn't he a bitch!!

Myself and Ben Carey have contributed to this thread as we have an opinion concerning Dodson's conduct on this and other forums ... we have a right to express that opinion and whats more what some people simply cannot get their heads around is that we have expressed those opinions as far as I can see in a respectful manner.

Let me set the record straight here ... I have NOT left boxingtalk and have no intention of doing so ... merely having a rest and I thought I would just for the day contribute to this extremely good forum ... which if pressed is moderated a lot better than I could ever do the job ... it is a good place to be to have the rare and occasional debate!!!

So with that said ... Ummmmm ....I say to the very people who say I am a nobody and know f*ck all about boxing and in addition over the months and years thrown various accusations my way ... isn't it very very sad indeed to entice people to their forums or make their forums busier they have to start threads throwing insults and accusations my way ...

If I am a nobody and no one gives a f*ck why do threads continually crop up on this and other forums which insult me etc etc and which are the busiest threads a particular forum has seen in a while ... some of you may say b*llocks to that but its FACTUAL!!!

If you don't give a f*ck about me or Carey why contiually throw insults my and his way and why oh why accuse me of ruining these forums but yet the very things you accuse me of and the insults and accusations that have come my way are as already stated the busiest threads on your particular forums!!!

I am accused of being a shit moderator ... I have to agree ... yet on one particular forum the very people who accuse me of being exactly that have to continually start "Spud is a prick" threads to drum up business for the forum .. sad sad and very sad!!!
Back to the thread in question ...

Dodson v Carl Froch

Dodson has made this situation himself ... he has done the very thing that so many of you have actually accused me of ... and that is court opinion and favour on these forums ... when someone has disagreed with him which myself and Carey have ... he has gone and spat his dummy out and indeed quite openly threatened me ...

So I have a clear picture now ... it is okay for Dodson ... but not okay for me!!!

Finally ...

Good Luck ... Carl Froch!!!
shame he only threatened you, he should have battered you for the crap and abuse you wrote on your treasured forum. we know you have not personally insulted tony on here, but dont try to play the clever guy, you harp on about audit trails, so look at the one about your feud with tony dodson, and it stretches a lot further than this forum.

people know the type of person you are... slag people of on here then lick their arse at shows (howard foster springs to mind)... i suppose if you met tony dodson you would be trying to smoke his pole !!!

but he and others have seen through you.... :D and im loving it :TU:

stujones wrote:I agree Carbo on the first paragraph (welcome to the forum BTW).

Giving it the old I'm not bias "and boxrec is cause he posts here" is not necessarily true cause "we" are as bias for Dodson as the boxingtalk mods are cause of their spats.
was mates with froch only until he was selling his signature behind his back...... FACT !!
