I think this fight is too early for Dodson. Realistically he should be still in his comeback. He will know this himself. Instead he is taking on a world class fighter in Froch. He will have doubts himself. But he has such heart that he ignores such doubts and takes the fight anyway. If Tony would have waited till Froch vacated he would have won back the belt with no problem at all. But he never. So to hell with questions about heart or balls. Tony is stepping in the ring ffs what more can you ask for? There is nothing wrong with wanting to wait until you are in top class condition before facing a Carl Froch is there? I know i certainly wouldn't face him unless i was 110%. Maybe Ben Carey would?
Both fighters are confident. Both like to say a few words. But deep down they have respect for one another. Somebody will get stopped i guarantee that. Froch is on a crest of a wave at the moment. Dodson will be looking at Froch and thinking that should be him. However I think Froch's best is better than Tony's. Whether Froch performs to his best is another thing altogether. Head says Froch, heart would like Dodson.
Holyfield & Stu
As I've already said, I can understand Dodson's reasoning for pulling out of the first two fights due to injury, but I think you've both given him an easy ride for pulling out for a third time, when he wasn't injured, just because he didn't consider he had enough time to prepare and his purse wasn't big enough. Having shouted the odds I would have thought he would have jumped at the chance to take the fight.
Unless Dodson's Mystic Meg he couldn't have forseen that he would be offered an incredible fourth chance to fight Froch - something which owes more to Froch wanted to secure the Lonsdale while he waits to land a crack at the European.
I've explained the keyboard comments and why I think Froch will win, inbetween that I've stated that Dodson will perform creditably and push Froch all the way - hardly disrespectful. May the best win.
Terrence - the site's mine. Yes, it sets up like a blog but I'm limited by the publishing package without spending financial outlay - something which seems crazy when boxing websites traditionally don't make money. Its only been up and running since October and the idea is it will graduate into a fully fledged british site in its own right in time. I'm just trying to focus on the content rather than the design. If the contents good people will read it. Thanks.
Silkov - With respect, for a guy with 7,000+ posts I expected you to be setting an example, not resorting to unnecessary handbags. I think Stu is right, you're animosity was OTT and you, and some of the rest, should let bygones be bygones.
See you next week. Enjoy the fight. It should be an absolute cracker.
