RIP Willie Pep

One of the greatest boxers of all time in it's truest sense. An astonishing record of 230-11-1. You will be missed Willie.

This is a very sad day for boxing, one of the true legends of the sport and a real character, I'll raise a glass to him next time I have a drink. May he rest in peace.
Pepp talking to an old opponent years after each retired. "Do you recognize me?" the old opponent asked. Willie looked hard and considered before finally replying "Lie down so I can recognize you."
Pepp - "I've got it made. I've got a wife and a TV and they're both working."
RIP

Willie Pep
What can you say about this true master?
It is interesting that all of the posts have been brief. Just goes to show that words can't explain.
Rest in peace Willie. There will never be another.

The other night espn classic showed Ali vs Zora Folley 1967.
The announcer Johnny Adie was bringing all the exchamps who were in the house into the ring .
A whole slew of great champs were in the house as it was at the Garden I believe.
When he brought Sandy Saddler up , the biggest applause for him were from a little guy in a suit already up in the ring.
Willie Pep.
Classy guy and a true great.
