fornicating amazing to have had 634 amatuer bouts and won 610.
Just reading a column in Boxing Montly with the 1956 olmypic team and he was the Lightweight Gold at Melbourne and Bronze in Rome!

He was mentioned in this months Boxing Monthly.

I remember him well. He brought several teams of forces boxers to fight against my club when I was a kid. As a kid I can recall the respect and esteem that was bestowed upon hin, and thinking (in retrospect of course) why is he operating at such a grassroots level. Diabolical IMHO.

He does seem rather forgotton south of the border.
maybe its because he never turned pro, most other medal winners did give the pro's a go.
He seems a very modest man in any interviews i've read.

he seemed to train or manage our olympic boxing teams for years.
not sure if he still does it.
