Well I'd pay a good amount of money see just one of those.

Here would be my five:

Archie Moore vs. Bob Foster (Moore KO15)

Henry Armstrong vs. Sandy Saddler (D15)

Jose Napoles vs. Carmen Basilio (Napoles UD15)

Ike Williams vs. Roberto Duran (Williams SD15)

Carlos Monzon vs. Marvin Hagler (Monzon MD15)

For your fights, I'd pick Louis to take Ali out in the final round, Frazier to thrillingly decision Holyfield, Duran to beat Whitaker by a comfortable score margin, Robinson to squeak a points victory, and Hamed to just about take a decision over McGuigan.

Everyone of them is an excellent match-up - True pick'ems -

Though I do wonder (as much as I like Duran) if SRL was able to frustrate him to the point of quitting.......a big part of me believes Sweet Pea would beat him by Dec at LW -

One could argue that Duran had problems with movers - or runners. Whitaker was neither. He was great defensively, but he stood fairly stationary for the most part - or at least in comparison to Lou Bizzarro.

Where Duran got bored of chasing a man like Bizzarro, Whitaker would be much easier to get close to. There's only so many punches one can avoid, and Duran would land. He was a great puncher, in my opinion on par with the Archie Moores and Ray Robinsons in that respect.

Many people will look at the Chavez fight and come to the conclusion that Whitaker would beat Duran. I disagree. Chavez wasn't one dimensional, but he was in comparison to Duran, who used feints and moves Chavez had never even heard of.

While Chavez was great, Whitaker could predict his punches coming and evade them accordingly. One only has to look at the first Leonard fight to see how Duran could tie a great fighter into knots through his feinting and shifty footwork. Whitaker would flounder many a time when trying to anticipate Duran's phantom moves.

Some fans will forget that Duran was fantastic on the defensive side of things, the most talented in that area I've seen - yea, he got hit more than Pep or Benitez, but he fought much more offensively. I'm sure if Duran took the back foot and boxed he could have looked every bit as unhittable, the man's reflexes were amazing, but not only that, he possessed ringcraft and versatility.

I don't see how Whitaker can win this one... While probably underrated by some for his offense, he didn't have anything to discourage the Duran freight train and keep him at bay. Duran would be avoiding many of those jabs Whitaker chucks at him and would be hitting back harder and faster.

ali vs louis..........................Ali in 15 Decision
frazier vs holyfield...............Wow...Frazier in a war
duran vs whitiker.................Duran was not only a bull and he wins this on effective aggression at LW...but just barely.
robinson vs leonard..............Only one Sugar...and I'm not talking Bert Sugar....Ray Robinson wins this.

mcguigan vs hamed............McQuigan but Hamed lands and takes him off balance once in the fighti.

Interesting match ups here, Ricardo Lopez vs Jimmy Wilde caught my attention, I hadn't given it much thought. Very good match up. :TU: I'd like to see...

Sanchez vs Arguello
Archie Moore vs Roy Jones
Duran vs Chavez (it's been mentioned before on the forums)
Mancini vs Gatti
Palmonio vs Cuevas (also been mentioned I think..)

i'm a youngin, so i'm sorry for not being able to go TOO far back. I'm working backwords and have only gotten myself to the early 80's. That being said. Some "newschool ATG fights" i'd pay anything to see:
Tommy Hearns vs. Felix Trinidad
Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Pernell Whitaker
Aaron Pryor vs. Shane Mosley
James Toney vs. Bernard Hopkins
Erik Morales vs. Bobby Chacon
Not much indepth analysis between these matchups. Just the 5 that when they pop in my head, i get excited like they were actually happening.

Louis walks Ali down for a couple of rounds, it's a close fight for a few but Joe eventually catches up often enought to stop Ali.

Holyfield wins by a descent margin on the cards but it is an exciting fight, alot like Holy's fight with Qawi.

Depends on what the ref lets Duran get away with, but in a regulated fight, I pick whitaker to outbox duran.

Robinson stops Leonard by the mid to late rounds.

I'd love to have seen Tyson/Frazier. Explosive.
Also, I'd love Lewis/(Young) George Foreman.

Talking about Duran/Whitaker, I see a split decision going either way, because its going to depend on the type of judges.

As for fantasy fights:
Lennox Lewis/Riddick Bowe (Lewis UD)
Evander Holyfield/Joe Frazier (Holyfield SD)
Roy Jones Jr/Dwight Muhammad Qawi (Jones, UD)
Marvin Hagler/Carlos Monzon (beats the hell out of me)
Julian Jackson/Marvin Hagler (Hagler TKO8)
Julian Jackson/Thomas Hearns (Hearns UD)
Naseem Hamed/Floyd Mayweather Jr (Mayweather UD)
Meldrick Taylor/Macho Camacho (Taylor UD)
Ray Mancini/Aaron Pryor (Pryor UD)
Aaron Pryor/Thomas Hearns (Hearns KTFO 4)
Muhammad Ali/Mike Tyson (Ali TKO10)
Larry Holmes/Rocky Marciano (The Jockstrap Fight, Holmes SD)
Evander Holyfield/Jerry Quarry (Holyfield UD)
Larry Holmes/Joe Frazier
Gerry Cooney/Mike Tyson (Tyson KTFO 4)
