not many boxers go from a toned 156 to 200 winning championship belts from middle to heavy... i dont care if its john ruiz he beat, he still did it.
wish he would have retired, or stayed at HW and invited tarver up there.. unfortunitely he picked the wrong path, drop back down to 175.
personally i would have been more impressed if he would have beaten a savage puncher with ringsmarts like ottke.

if jones would have beaten tony, hopkins, hill, benn, mcclellan, calzaghe, eubank, ottke, collins and DM, which if he stayed around sm he would have faced then i`d be the first to admit thats a f*****g impressive list of fighters. jones may have had to travel but if he really wanted to create a legacy then he could have, he certainly had the talent to go to germany or wales and do the business.
the sad thing about it is that he probably would have beaten them all.
shame we`ll never know.

i agree that i would have rathered him fight better opponents then my home town 2 best in grant and lucas... but unfotunitely thats the way he went... either way, for skill, u got to say hes one of the best ever... maybe not a top 10 on your list, but defenitely for skill, hes in the top 20... imo..

A con artist? come on is that a joke? Roy Jones Jr. had superb boxing skills and did fight many big names during his career. Calling him a con artist would be a riot.

He was a great fighter, no doubt about that. The lowdown on him was his quality of opposition. Like Jake LaMotta said: "Great Fighters fight great fighters" and in that perception Jones did not do enough in my view.

Jones is an all time 100 great. An all time 50 great??? not in my view.
