the sparring mcneil v anderson

I have not seen them spar this year but i spoke to an aussie boy who is training at fauldhouse and who watched them spar 3 times,he did not really know any of them and he told me mcneil absolutely hammered kevin,in both spars at fauldhouse,and was told by his coach to ease off in the third spar,i asked old colin baxter if this was true and his words were colin battered kevin easily, ,it should be interesting,meanwhile i think colin will knock minter out ,and then knock kevin out by the way big colin says if you fancy kevin bring plenty money with you

As we know sparring can often bare little relation to a real fight.

Spadafora bashed up PBF once in sparring. Who would you favour over 12 x 3s with 8oz gloves on?

It is an interetsing little fight but on the back of McNeil's showing in his loss and Anderson's impressive victories I would back the younger man in this match.

as far as i'm concerned, mcneil's victory over gary young does not mean he has devestating punching power all of a sudden. young got caught cold in that fight and never recovered - he has taken bigger shots than them before and shaken them off. i'd have to favour ando if the pair of them do get it on. however, it seems the powers that be are doing everything possible to prevent this match up.

Ok guys, this is getting very disappointing. Obviously Pat, Colin and the australian lad look at things through rose tinted glasses, I suppose you could say fair enough cause it is their fighter. Let me put the young aussy guy right, when Kev was over at that time he was only working on his defence, not concentrating on throwing bundles of punches, the spar was pretty much 50-50 as I saw it. And your comment about Colin getting asked by his coach to hold off Kev is a total beauty

Get a grip. You guys are looking into a spar far too much, a spars a spar that's as far as it goes. If this is what the fauldhouse guys really think, it can only be bad for Colin cause he will end up losing the best sparring partner he could get.
I've got respect for Colin, but if this nattering is true then maybe they dont have any for Kev, so dissapointing. After a spar we dont come out of Fauldhouse and say "battered him again today Kev, f*ck how many times are you going to burst that guys eyes open" NO we dont even speak about Colin, only what Kev is working on. The way things are going Kev will have his MANDATORY against Magee then all going well he can choose 2 other fights from the top ten to keep the belt, and Colin will get frozen out, until Kev goes for something better.

Colin is good, but I've never seen him land a punch that bothered Kev, can he say the same thing? If the fight comes off, which I dont think it will, I will take their bet, NO problem. The guys at the club need to take a chill pill and not get too enthralled in a spar, cause as I said it will cost Colin the best sparring partner he could ever get.

Unless this is you just talking non-sense?

What a laugh, not the times I saw him getting mullered. Agree with the last post though, don't know why Colins club is getting all bitchy about the sparring, cause Kev and Colin have known each other for years. I would take on any bet with Colin he wants, gladly take his money off him, Colin Baxter as well, hell I'd be a rich man that night

Saw it in the paper yesterday that Britain had the thumbs up to do the first, full face transplant! If Colin gets a chance to fight Kev they will get plenty of practice cause Colins eyes would take a bigger hammering than they do in sparring, the guy bleeds like a virgin. Being serious for a minute, it is stupid if these are their thought on Ando, cause Mcneil couldnt get a better spar anywhere in Scotland, probably Britain for that matter. DUCK if your just trying to stir things up so that Kev will through down the gauntlet to Mcneil, I think it will backfire big time, Kev will just take on someone else, and Mcneil will not get a good payday. Or of course he does take him on and sends Colin into retirement. Take a break from your shite stirring mate

I wouldn't think it's McNeil that has been going around saying anything, he knows that sparring is what it is, Practice.
Always hard to gauge what would happen in a proper bout when comparing sparring, one boxer might be only a week away from a bout , the other might have only just started training again after a break.

As the information was received second hand so to speak , i wouldn't read into this thread much.

Good points Topper! It was Kevs first ever spar since the Mutley fight, hence why he was working on his defence, hell, we all know he can throw a million punches. Hopefully your right, that it wont be have come from Colin. Anyway it doesn't matter, whoever it came from, cause I know the truth, but I dont like telling stories so I will keep it to myself

i am colins brother, and have asked him about this pish that i have been hearing about him bashing up kev, he said he has never bashed kev up, but its just sparring, and he regards kev as a freind.
so lets stop listining to some guy who said some guy said that if ma ant had balls she would be my uncle.
it pisses me of people saying my bro said this or, he would do that,
its easy when they are sitting behind a keyboard not taking the punches.

Hopefully that'll be the end of the matter. Tell Colin all the best against Barry Lee, think Colin will handle Barry fairly comfortably. IMO he'll win by a wide points margin
