Maybe not the most brutal in history but I got to see Brewster _ Golota live a couple rows back and that was a pretty definitive ko.
When I saw Golota walk up the steps I knew it was gonna be over early.
He looked like a deer in the headlights . Completely tense .

thats weird too because he was able to hang in there with Bowe and others, Tyson excluded.

It was strange because the crowd was overwhemingly in support of him. Chicago has a large Polish population and they were out in force.
It seemed to psych Andrew out rather than psych him up.
He was really tight got caught and it was adios.

Boxing is the one sport where it can be all over if you come out tight. In most other sports their is time to recover from a slow start. What his trainer might have done is recognized this and had him use the first couple of rounds as a feeling out process even if it meant giving the round away. Kind of gradually work into the flow of things, maybe be a little extra cautious. Usually by then an athlete forgets about any pregame jitters.

Bummer that you had great seats for a fight that didn't last past the first round. :(

I saw the news paper headline next day, with Dunn stretched out across the page, and the headline above: WHO DUNN IT?

Mancini/Frias was oneof the most action packed one round fight ever seen. Art looked like he'd gone 15 rounds at the end of 3 minutes.

Caveman Lee was knocked out by a JAB from Halger...all that smack he'd been taking I think.

Juan Kid Meza v Jamie Garza was a goodun - Meza was down early, but came back to win with an almighty left hand.

The Garza Meza fight I remeber was on tv. It seemed it was sort of a showcase fight for Garza and everything was going as planned until he got caught. Like you said he had Meza down right out of the gate but he didn't anticipate that he was still dangerous. Don't know what happend to Garza after that and I havn't been able to locate him on Boxrec. I tried typining Meza's name in also but nothing came up.
