Talk about red rag to a bull!!

If ever there was a chance to take Harrison it's now amid his distractions outside of the ring.

I do wonder how this one will turn out, Harrison struggles with rangey boxers who outbox him on the outside...... That aint Cooky! Cook fights Harrisons fight, but who will prevail is anybodies guess.

I'm going for Cook by 8th TKO.

Predictions anyone?

I don't see Cook scoring a stoppage (unless Harrison has stamina problems), but I do think he'll win a pretty solid UD.

I like Cook for this one too. There's just far too many negatives next to Harrison's name. Problems outside the ring, inactivity, and choice of opponent before the lay-off to name but a few.

Given perfect preperation and build-up, I'd still say that this would be an even money fight, but Cook is on a roll and Harrison looks like he's on a slippery slope. Cook on points, by three or four rounds.

I think Harrison is too strong and experienced and will win by mid to late stoppage, ahead on all cards.

Unlike some, I would not have thought that before Harrison's problems this was a 50/50 fight. I would have went with Harrison all the way. For me this is a 50/50 fight after the problems that Harrison has faced. Both fighters know how to fight and if Cook takes it to him early then I think that Harrison will win. Having seen Cook fight a few times he tries to outtough his opponents and makes harder work than is neccesary. I think Harrison will be fired up and prepared for that. But the later rounds is where this fight may be sorted and that makes it very interesting.

yes thats how i see it - a 50-50 fight only because of scotts problems - i'm not too impressed with cook, not aggressive enough for a come forward fighter. however, this is def a must see bout. i think
if the shadow of the scott harrison that beat brodie turns up he wins.

I see the outside problems only helping Harrison..making him more intense and determined.

Cook for me is good British title level...good but lacking that special ability.

Harrison gets to Cook mid-late rnds...wouldn`t be surprised to see the corner pulling their man out.

If Cook wins it will be by using body shots - Harrison has looked vulnerable in that department.

Other than that, I think Harrison should have enough to break Cook down.

I am going with Cookie on this one - Harrison I dont think, is mentally or physically at his usual standard - Given that Harrison hadnt had all his self inflicted troubles then I would say Harrison to win in a tough bout - I dont really rate Cook as world class but I do think he has enough right now to seize the opportunity to beat Harrison - I just cant see Harrison being the fighter we know.

I think too much is been made of Harrisons outside problems. He still will have trained ver hard when not in prison and be 90-95% of what he usually is. The only question mark is on his weight making ability and how drained he'll be. Harrison hits like a truck at 126 and bullys pretty much anyone who'll come to fight and not box. I see Cook getting ko'd mid rounds.

Anyway Harrison needs to move up to 130 or 135 after this 1

I think Harrisons career could get turned around if he gets the right fight at a higher weight. Barrera and Morales are past it and may be there for the taking. A Pacman fight would be entertaining and Harrison is always in with a shot in a toe-toe battle

Nightmare lead up for Harrison, but he'll still have too much for Cook who's treading into world class for the first time.

He'll never have a better chance than this though.

But is Harrison world class? For me he hasn't looked it for a long time. Cook has the skills and hopefully after Scott's time out and after taking a few body shots which he's never looked comfortably with we could get a new champ. Harrison has been there for the taking for a while and all his problems aren't going to make him any better.

I did go for Hussein, Polo and Brodie to all beat Scott but this time I reckon I might be right.

I think the thing people are missing with harrison is that he will have had these demons all the way through his career and its only recently that they are being punblicised they have always been in his head and it never bothered him before.

Harrison wins this one handy by mid to late ko.

I just heard the conf call on Radio 5 live, quality!

It's funny when stuff like this goes on before a fight traditionalists tend to stick their noses up and say it's not 'gentlemanly' etc, I know I've thought it before..

But then hearing it I'm thinking we haven't heard this sort of 'banter' for years in the build up to a domestic scrap and I miss it!! There is some real needle now....

Cook was clearly winding Harrison deliberately, like he had the stuff written down "You're just another fight for me"

I agree. I don't like to see every fighter being a complete dick and giving it the big one, but it can be a bit boring when you have fights like Hatton-Tszyu, where both blokes (to their credit) are prepared to let their fists do the talking. So when you get some genuine needle it's always entertaining. The final press conference this week should be fun.....

An 85% Harrison would be too good for Cook, if he is in reasonable shape he will K.O. Cook within 6 rounds, any idea of what the current odds are???

Cook has wanted this fight for a long time now and comes across as a confident fighter. Nicky is a big feather as well and I don't see Scott intimidating him

if nicky can box harrison for about 4 rounds then i'll give him a chance.
scott's lay off will not affect his timing too much and this will improve during the fight. his condition though must be in question. i think scott will want to get it done before the middle rounds and will expend a lot energy in trying to do that. cook boxes for the tough first few rounds until harrison's lack of training kicks in - he has a chance of stopping him.
trouble is i dont rate cook a good enough boxer to hold him off.

I thought in a couple of Harrisons most recent fights he was looking more robotic,static and beatable than ever.

I can't see how a year off in which he has had drink problems and been incarcerated will help him sort that out at all and there is just no way he will be at 100%, probably barely 50%.

So the only question in my mind is if Nicky Cook is good enough to exploit this? His ledger isn't much to write home about really and doesn't really even prove him to be European champion level in my opinion (despite holding the EBU title).

But he will have the confidence of an unbeaten fighter and of a man who knows he may never get a better chance to claim an impressive scalp because his opponent his big problems.

Tough to call which is the main reason I'm looking forward to it.

I'll think Harrison will still have too much for Cook and live to fight another day....

World featherweight title challenger Nicky Cook has promised to dump Scott Harrison on the scrapheap alongside Scottish wannabe pop stars the MacDonald Brothers this Saturday at the ExCeL London.

The cheesy pop act tumbled out of the X-Factor last Saturday night and now the cheeky Cockney scrapper, who challenges Harrison for his WBO crown, reckons he will KO Harrison to add further misery to the Scottish nation live on ITV1.

"I ain't much of a singer but I'll be singing 'I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles' in the ring with the world title strapped around my waist when I've chinned Harrison and the X-Factor judges can be ringside to score me on that one!", said the die-hard West Ham United fan.

"One Scottish act has been dropped on TV already and now I'm going to drop the other one this Saturday,"

Cookie continued, "Fair dues to Harrison, he's been a good champion and beaten some decent challengers but this is now my time to take over and reign the featherweight division and come on, you need a champion that smiles a bit. What's with Harrison constantly snarling all the time? A few right hands from me on his chops should sort that one out,"

"For a featherweight he's not very fast and looks like his stuck in tar by the way he punches and moves. Yeah, he's strong but this is boxing and I'll be too fast and quick for him on the night, I'll be throwing four of five punches to every one of his and busting his body up with some heavy shots."
