They both look in good nick; Thaxton especially so - its like he is carved from stone.

Thaxton is Britain's answer to Hopkins in terms of conditioning - a fitness fanatic who is always on weight and lives the life. Its the key to his incredible longevity IMO.

With all the fall out from Skelton/Scott Harrison and Khan's title bauble lets concentrate on the REAL fight for a REAL title happening in Gorsbrook on Friday night.

I for one can't wait! :TU:

Lee looks like he just had a spliff.

Both made the weight as you would expect from two good pro's. :TU:

Still don't understand how Simeon Cover can be fighting for the Southern Area title. He's always been billed out of Worksop to my knowledge. Suppose he is now licensed under the Southern Area Council now.

Cover was born in Hackney, so I assume he is licenced down here

Thaxton looks amazing - he is as you say a fitness fanatic who takes it seriously. He's in tip-top shape.
Hopkins is another one - he is up at 5am running and just refuses to be any less than 100% ready. Have you ever seen him look crap for a fight?

Sorry about the quality of the Meager pic, I'm no professional with the camera (and my camera is not a professional one either!) and they seem to be on and off the scales in seconds!

Meager does look a little drawn in the weigh in photo's , but seeing as he's 1/2lb under the limit he couldn't of struggled that much.
He is doing a passable impression of Bez though :TU:

Good work Kevin,

This fight is the only redeeming feature for British boxing this weekend. :TU:

Seeing as the main event is straight out of the top drawer, I suppose you have to cut Hennessy some slack, but the undercard isn't up to the usual standard (on paper at least).

I'll be a little surprised if Barker-Paul Samuels comes off. Even if it does, I know Samuels can bang but he appears as often as Haley's comet these days.

John Murray against Billy Smith again!

Powers looked bad at middleweight, now he's up at light heavy against the decent Sparticus !

Thirwall boxes Howard Clarke again!

Just a bit disappointing really, but a cracking main event so.....

p.s. Kevin, didn't mean to criticise your camera work, just a comical picture of Meager. Fully appreciate the write up and pics. :TU:

Paul Samuels was at the weigh-in. Looked in good shape. I have just added his pic to the record on BBN. after the weigh in so you can see his body!!

Well it's good that he's weighed in, so the fight should be happening. First fight in nearly 4 years still makes me wonder though.
