Typical Sports Network, typical Warren.

How many of his announced shows ever resemble the end product ??? They are an absolute disgrace.

I know HennessySports have their knockers about not coming forward with details sooner than they do, but I think this is exactly the sort of situation they look to avoid. Much more far sighted IMO, and much fairer to the fan who forks out good money and makes the effort to support the show.

Please bear this in mind the next time posts start up wanting more details of forthcoming events. :TU:

How can you defend him? The guys a joke! How many of times has he pulled out of fights in the past? Hopefully this is the last we hear of SH on a boxing website again, but keep an eye out for him in the Daily Star's 'goss' pages :D

Correct, and do you think, for example, Manual Medina was at his peak when he boxed Harrison the second time. No. But like the amazing pro that Medina is he makes sure he's in that ring to give his best. Harrison may have a win over Medina but he's a million miles away from getting the respect that Medina commands.

Manuel Medina. Now there is a true fighter. Puts Scott Harrison to shame.

This has to be the least surprising pull outs EVER. Harrison has had nothing but trouble leading into this. What a damp squib this night has turned out to be. I'm gonna go out instead! :D

Exactly. Sports Network/Fwank Warren should be investigated and dealt with by Trading Standards, and the BBBoC.
Fat chance, they owe him for bailing them out.
Why's that?

Didn't F.Warren help the BBBofC out with a few ££££'s when Michael Watson sued them?

Fukin hell thats a bit dodgy, isnt it? A possible conflict of interest in the least.

What happens when Warren does something that puts him in breach of the BBBoC, something like abusing his promoters license by selling main-event/ headline fights that nearly constantly fail to materialise literally days before the scheduled contest?

Surely Warren can never receive an impartial hearing or impartial treatment from such an 'independent' organisation when he has directly contributed financially to them?

Warren appears to have got it proper sewed up.

Indeed he has, which is probably why he has felt able to lead the fans on this recent merry dance with the Harrison debacle..... he basically owns the BBBC.... allegedly!. 8)

But the Harrison debacle isnt the first such event that concerns Warren.

It seems no coincidence that Warren's own website, which you would expect to have first-hand knowledge of fresh, breaking news concerning Warren's own pending promotions, often appears to be the last place to report that the main-event fight has fallen through - when for days that very same news is circulating around elsewhere in the public domain.

Indeed the Sports Network organisation has appeared on many occasions, very reluctant (almost until the eve of the promotion) to put out an official statement confirming that a headline fight has fallen through - despite media coverage reporting such speculation days and days in advance.

I heard Warren say that in relation to Harrison's pull-out this week, he only heard the news through the media. Well, if that is to be believed Warren and his organisation's poor attempts to inform the public of such developments, though not intentional - at the least would appear to be unprofessional and seemingly reckless.

It didnt take a genius to work out that Harrison needed a very-close eye in the build up to this fight.

Allegedly speaking.

It was Harrison's fault not Warren's.

The link says he's considering legal action against Harrison for it.

Harrison did need to be checked on though but he did refuse to go to the check weigh in.

Barry Hughes Quote from BBC article.
"Scott, Peter Harrison and I spoke at length last night, as you would expect, he added.
So why weren't they talking to Warren either? :-?

No, :o typing error............i've known Cock for some years!

Slightly off topic but I have tickets for the show and have never been to the EXcel before. What's the parking like, and getting out afterwards. Would I be better off going by Train and DLR?

I seem to remember getting stranded in docklands once, think the DLR finished quite early and then you're getting a cab. Depends what time the show finishes.

Jess Harding and Nicky Cook should tell Warren where they can stick the Matthews offer. Talk about the goal posts changing.

The big fights that Cook has worked so hard for are just around the corner, with the massive disappointment to deal with he should stay well away from Matthews at this stage. Nothing to gain and a lot to lose. Forget the £££s Warren will be offering, they are not far away.

What will happen to Harrsion WBO title? Will it just go straight to Juan Manuel Marquez or will Cook still get a shot.
No way can Cook get a shot at the title. Surely.
JM Marquez gets upgraded. But Team JMM have shown interest in a Cook fight.

I reccon this problem of lack of communication stems from Fwanks lack of hands-on approach with his fighters, i recall Nigel Benn fell out with him during his career because he "was too busy" to come to his gym and see him train.

He can blame the fighters all he likes, the bottom line is it's his job to deliver a good fight card especially for the paying fans who have to travel and spend a lot of money and time.

It's obvious he knew that the two main fights were in jeopardy a long time ago so the least he could have done was put a few fighters on standby, the must be numerous pros out there ticking over in the gym out of work at the moment and they would not have had to be title fights...just good match-ups.

At the end of the day he NEVER holds his hands up and ALWAYS passes the buck, and it's a sh!tty move not to offer fans a FULL refund after all this, i for one would never buy a ticket to one on his promotions until the week of the fight.
