Why did Audley look like Mike Tyson in 1 of those pix? Is this the begging of Iron Audley a HW that will strike fear into the hearts of all the top heavyweights and rule the division in devastating fashion for years?
thanks for the pix Emma, and why were they fighting? By fighting I mean walking towards each other and looking to each other for 36miniutes of hugging time.

Danny's weight is puzzeling, last time he came in a short notice was in May against Adnan Serin when he was actually 18st 11lbs which was the lightest he's been since before beating Tyson, however he lood fekking terrible in that fight.Daveyswan wrote:TOMORROW
Ye 21ibs less than last time has got to be a good sign although a weeks notice is not enough.... But let's hope.

Don't think it is that puzzling. It would lead me to believe that Danny does a lot of weight training during the build up to fights, and this actually jacks his weight up. Weighing less doesn't mean he is fitter, and could just be due to muscle atrophy from sitting around on his backside. Muscle is three times as dense as fat, and I think Danny looks in worse shape than he did against Skelton, despite weighing a lot less. Of course, this is just an observation based on a few photographs, but his plunging weight when he comes in at short notice, and the fact he mentioned in a recent interview that he enjoys lifting weights, leads me to believe this is why he keeps getting heavier. When danny piles on the pounds, instead of training to shift weight, he adds even more weight by jacking weights around. It's quite common to see big fat monsters in the gym lifting huge weights who don't look very strong because they are so overweight.J-C wrote:Danny's weight is puzzeling, last time he came in a short notice was in May against Adnan Serin when he was actually 18st 11lbs which was the lightest he's been since before beating Tyson, however he lood fekking terrible in that fight.Daveyswan wrote:TOMORROW

That makes sense, I lose weight when I stop weight training but it doesn't make me any fitter.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Don't think it is that puzzling. Lifting weights doesnt increase bodyweight though, Danny must bulk up eating high protein high carb foods also coming into fights.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Don't think it is that puzzling. Muscle uses up allot of oxygen though, especially muscle built during weights - look at Bruno. It makes you more explosive but that in turn burns energy and the muscle is built for short term activity not for more than 20seconds of work - effectively your training your body to be gassed after 20seconds of action.
Weight training has its place to develop explosive punches - take a boxer on the pads have him do some explosive jerks (that sounds really bad) then take him back on the pads. He will be instantly punching with more power.

Of course lifting weights increases body weight. If you lift high weights, doing low repetitions, and have the right nutriotional intake you will gain muscle mass, and therefore weight, unless you are doing a lot of cardio exercise, which will prevent you building so much weight. That's why most of the guys who go to the gym to stack up muscle don't touch the cardio machines.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Lifting weights doesnt increase bodyweight though, Danny must bulk up eating high protein high carb foods also coming into fights.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Don't think it is that puzzling. Also, the reason that adding muscle bulk reduces endurance, is that we all have a natural amount of muscle, which tends to consist mainly of the slow twitch low strength type. The type built with weight training, or high weights low reps strength training, is the fast twitch type which uses high energy bursts, and depletes glycogen stores very quickly.
A lot has been made of Bruno's muscularity, but he wasn't carrying anywhere near as much bulk as Danny is most times he fights, he was a naturally lean guy, and though he did gas in fights, his work rate compared to most modern heavyweights was pretty good, he would have hung with or beaten most of todays crop in a 12 rounder pretty easily for work rate. Apparently Bruno never used to lift very heavy weights in any case.

It can but not without a high calorie diet alongside it. Thats why you can get some 10stone guys bench pressing 500lbs where some 18stone muscle heads may lift say only 300lbs. The 10stone man isn't doing any high reps or cardio to reach his goals.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Of course lifting weights increases body weight.
