Khan never to be a world champion???

How you doing guys no be on in a long time just managed to get access back online.

Just finished watching the fight on sat nite for the second time and still really unsure about this guy, i know its early doors but just can see him winning one of the major belts... Seen him box a lot as an amature( boxed two of my firends who ran him close) and seen all his pro fights to date but dont think he has what it takes and will defo not be a world champion in a year as he was stating.
Would like to see him in with someone with half a dig to see how the chin is tested, they kept on saying it was tested on sat nite but we all know that guy couldnt break an egg. I know its only rumours but spoke to two current pros last week who say he has been put down numerous times in sparring>>>>

it was a typical SN exercise, mathcing him with a shifty, awkward import in order to sharpen his skills without ever in threat of losing the fight. No big deal that he didn't look awesome, he managed to pace himself, throw quick punches, etc etc even though he didn't dazzle.

I wonder if we will ever see Khan in with his two closest weight rivals, Mitchell and Murray. Or will the paying public again be denied the biggest domestic clashes due to politics and money men.

He defintely hasnt the best of chins and needs to sharpen his defence a lot... outside of WBU or WBO I cant see him winning one of the 'genuine' world titles unless he improves greatly... only 20 yes, but there seems to be some serious flaws and I'm not sure that his current career path will allow him the chance to improve on them...

I would like to be proven wrong, but I can't see him winning a proper title. The fact that he is constantly being put in with non punchers waves a big red flag. IMO its safe to say his people know he doesn't have the best chin and will play it safe. He did show some good things in the fight like pacing etc. That chin however will be his downfall.

I don't think Khan saw the irony when he said he was giving up the I/C belt to go back down to "his weight" at 135. Obviously, Khan has always fought at around 137 for his short pro career. I wouldn't have thought they'd be killing him to make that, so in theory he should make 135 fairly comfortably. But he is 5"10, barely an ounce of fat, and maybe needs or "is due" to fill out a bit. Long term his future is surely at 140lb.

All this talk and I finally get to my point - the "world" titles.

At lightweight, you have: Casamayor, Juan Diaz Julio Diaz, and Freitas.
lww it's Hatton (well it's going to be) Witter, Torres and M'Baye.

Frankly, I cannot see Khan coming out on top against any of these guys within 5-10 fights. However, if we look for loopholes, here's a couple of possibilities for the reasonably near future.

Freitas. Has apparently come out of retirement in order unify - perhaps with Casamayor. Incredibly, the WBO doesn't actually create "regular" champions when a champion unifies. However, I reckon Freitas will either not be around for long, will move, vacate, something or other. Now, whilst it would take some doing to keep him there whilst Khan gets a good ranking - Earl is WBO no 1. Also, Limmond is currently #10. I reckon a win over Limmond for the comm belt and we could be getting close.

Then at lww we have 3 "British" titlists. M'Baye obviously is with SN, and whilst he's no mug, I can't help but ponder that Frank has him with a medium-term view to putting him in with Khan when the time is right. Or perhaps they could get M'Baye to somehow unify with someone else, which would free up the WBA "regular" title for Khan, although even a sad case like me can't stretch to considering the full range of possibilities

Khan will never be a champion under his current trainer and regime. He's got lots of talent to mold and its just going to waste.

I thought Freitas was pretty much finished?
Lightweight isn't a great division. I'm sure Khan will campaign there rather than Lightwelter when he does reach world level.

i think all the 'world title before 21' talk is nonsense. he needs five years, at least. that way, it's plausible that he can fully develop his talent. right now, the speed is all there, but the technique isn't, nor is the defence.
